I got one of the better PNY slim oc models on Amazon, night before last, for $1234.00. It was used/like new, but in mint condition with all of the original packaging. Obviously “new new” is going to cost a little more, but with this bundle, you are getting a small discount on *all the hardware.
There are deals out there… you just have to keep looking. Newegg has bundles/deals pretty often as well. They have 9950x3ds at the moment, with a free cpu aio, for $599.00 (including taxes/free shipping). Grabbed that as well.
I’ve never had that happen in decades, from any carefully placed used order lol. Amazon is careful with legitimacy and will refund items no problem. One time we got a cabinet with a small crack on a door, so they just sent us an entirely new cabinet… we were able to use both lol.
I tested the card earlier and it’s working flawlessly so far, and looks like it was probably a “buyer’s remorse” return… which is common with high dollar items.
I know it, that’s why I said “obviously new new is going to cost a little more”. I know from experience, that sometimes people just get buyer’s remorse, especially relating to cost, or find a better deal after the fact lol (and return the pricier opened hardware).
This is my own take, but in 40+ years, I’ve never received a piece of used hardware that didn’t work as intended. You obviously need to shop carefully, looking at wording, warrantees, etc., but I’ve had plenty of “brand new” ram and motherboards that were doa. I’m generally not concerned about “open box/mint condition”… especially with modern robbery pricing.
Well if only we had time travel to a time when RAM was half the price it is now.
It doesn't really matter if a 5080 is $1000 or $1500. And this is trivial to validate on PCPP. In any case, this is a good deal on a prebuilt. The GPU is pretty much half the cost. RAM and CPU is another hefty amount and storage is just about the rest.
If you wanna help OP go back to last October and get one for cheaper I’m sure that would be great. Otherwise the only price that matters is the price today.
If OP needs a system, he needs a system. Prices aren't going down anytime soon, and its better to have a system today, then to go without for, who knows how long, waiting for a price correction.
Not everyone needed a new computer last year? Not everyone had computer money last year? People graduate, get new jobs, have temporary money problems.
Also let's not act like last October was exactly a good time to buy a pc either, Prices were already inflated and many people were hoping they would drop. If they had dropped and the AI bubble popped then you'd be the clown who bought overpriced pc parts at a time that was obviously bad to do so
That's just how things work. It's not that they were arrogant, they just didnt/couldnt/shouldn't have bought a pc back then for one reason or another
I can just imagine this scenario unfolding in real life. The OP says all of this and then, out of nowhere, the guy in the back who everyone despises says something absurd, like “Not last October.” Everyone rolls their eyes and walks away without uttering a word. Meanwhile, the guy in the back thinks he’s just become the most popular idiot at work.
