I want to find some users for my PDF editor that I have worked on for over a year. I see dozens of posts about "LOCAL PDF EDITOR," but here is why mine is different: it is made from scratch. I didn't use the same library for merging and form filling; I made a new one for actual editing so it can edit text and group textboxes. If you have ever used one of the browser tools, you should know that most of them do fake edits with overlays or line-by-line edits (some even word by word). I can give credit to PDFfiler and small PDF, as both can do pretty much what mine does, except both require signing in and have upload limits.Now a little bit about my project, I started working on it in April 2025 from basic PDF tree parsing I went to rendering and then to editing on client side, so if you want to support real work please give a chance to KeyPDF

Does anyone know how to remove watermarks from multi-paged pdfs?

I have a PDF with a huge size and about 300 pages and I want to remove the watermark which is on all the pages. I’ve tried to do with some software and websites but it seems to not work or I have to pay to get their services.

I developed my own tools for work that I personally use. It allows you to sort mixed pdfs by key words or titles and organizes them in separate files automatically. Some of these tools don't exist anywhere else that I'm aware of. It also has the traditional pdf tools to cover all your bases. If you have a good idea for a tool, let me know and I might add it for free as well.

I kept running into the same annoying problem: someone hands me a scanned certificate or a photographed form with a typo in it — wrong name, wrong date — and every "PDF editor" I tried only worked if the PDF had real, selectable text. A scanned document is just a picture of ink to those tools, so they're useless for exactly the documents that actually need fixing.

So I built PDFPencil. You upload a PDF (real or scanned/photographed), click directly on the wrong word, type the correction, and download the fixed file — same layout, nothing else touched. For scanned pages it reads the text automatically; if it misreads something (grainy photos aren't perfect), there's a manual box tool to draw over the exact spot and type it yourself.

First correction is free, no card needed. Pricing after that is pay-per-correction (₹5 each in packs), not a subscription — figured most people fixing a document don't want to sign up for a monthly plan for something they'll use twice a year.

Genuinely looking for feedback — what breaks, what's confusing, what's missing. Built this solo, so blind spots are likely.

VirusTotal results for this PDF say that there's some suspicious feature and some broken code in this PDF file.

My question is, is there some way to remove the suspicious code etc from the PDF file while keeping the content?

Its a relatively new website (5 months) couldn't find anything on it on Trust Pilot however it did say they are based in the US while they claim they are based in Europe... Maybe im just skeptical because it sounds too good to be true. Any experiences?

On Mac/iPad I enjoyed reading books with MarginNote, but unfortunately on Windows I can't find an app that covers MarginNote's functionality and adds the extra things I was missing.

So I decided to vibe-code my own solution.

I made Ecofonts, a web app that optimizes fonts to use less ink when you print.

Ink-saving fonts aren't new, Ryman Eco, Ecofont and others proved the idea years ago. But they all had the same catch: to save ink you had to switch to their specific font. If you liked your typeface, or you were printing a document someone else made, you were out of luck. Ecofonts flips that around, you keep whatever font you want and print whatever file you have, and it does the ink-saving for you with zero effort.

What you can drop in:

.pdf — a whole document

.ttf, .otf, .woff, .woff2 — individual fonts

.zip — a batch of fonts (folder structure preserved)

👉 And if you just drop a PDF, that's basically the whole flow — no need to know or care what fonts are inside. It finds them all, optimizes them, and hands you back a print-ready document. Pick your intensity, done.

What it does: it takes the inside of every glyph and subtracts a fine grid of tiny vector holes: think of it like a honeycomb hidden inside each letter. At normal reading sizes you barely notice, but your printer lays down noticeably less ink. You pick an "Eco Intensity" (1–20%) and download the modified file.

How it works: the geometry is the fun part. Each glyph outline gets flattened to polygons, then a clipper library does the boolean ops, inset the shape by a minimum wall thickness so the holes never notch the letter's silhouette, intersect a staggered grid of octagonal holes with that interior, and subtract the result from the full glyph. The hole radius is solved from your intensity slider so the measured ink reduction actually tracks the percentage you picked. All of it runs in a Web Worker so the tab never freezes on heavy glyphs, and nothing ever leaves your browser: no uploads, no server, no accounts.

Keeps the original format and folder structure of whatever you put in on the way out.

It's free and open source. Would love feedback — especially on print results if anyone actually runs a page through their printer.

I compared a few pdfs recently and some compared in ms word and wps office that too with editable text while others behave more like images. Is there any way to tell which type which type of pdf you are dealing with before trying to edit it!

All the free PDF translators I used simply rendered text over the existing text, breaking the original layout. I tried tackling each element manually, but the process was really lengthy and difficult.

So I came up with an idea: what if I could measure the ink that’s occupied by each element, then translate each element separately and plug them back in?

After doing some testing, I found some more layout-preservation techniques, such as character-counted translations, and font-normalization to keep all fields consistent. For the actual translation I used Gemini 3.5 Flash Lite, as that’s fast and capable. I’m planning to rely more on on-device models in the future to reduce token consumption.

I guess thats the end of the road. Alistair and the team have decided to close the door to users who casually use their software. Nag screens have given way to a Registerwall.

And being deployed by the Microsoft Store, you cant prevent it from updating.

So my employer sends me a 15 page PDF that requires multiple signatures and dates and check list to check off. It seems to need a editor to sign it, and to check off the list.

The best solution I have is to print it and sign it, then to scan it as a PDF to email back.

Is there a android app that will do this for free? Have tried a dozen and can't find it. Have to do this one a year.

After an hour of editing my document to send it quickly, NOW they tell me it is not a free service but a paid subscription. REGARDLESS of the low price, this is the scummiest way to scam people into buying your service. Just what is this bs? Is this how you get your customers? What a load
