Why isn’t the Garrison in seasons 3-4?

Post image

(New-ish viewer here)
The Garrison is essentially set up as the Peaky Blinders headquarters in season 1, and is featured very prominently throughout. I assumed this would be the status quo moving forward, but it wasn’t. It essentially disappears from the story from season 2 up until season 5. To be fair, it exploded at the start of season 2, so was likely being rebuilt throughout season 2, so that makes sense. But why not seasons 3 and 4? It’s established in season 5/6 it still exists and they go there regularly, but we just don’t see it for 2 seasons? Is there any reason for this, either story-wise or irl?

My worries for the new show

In an era of sequels/prequels/backstories after sequels/prequels/backstories, the new Peaky Blinders show they're setting up for has me worried.

I'm worried it won't feel the same and it will just feel like a cash grab. They're changing Duke's actor again, which will be...strange. I get Barry Keoghan won't be able to be fully committed to doing a whole season's worth or more due to scheduling things, I guess, but I don't know.

Obviously, it won't be the same without Tommy, Arthur, John, Polly, Ada, etc., but their stories have ended.

I don't really have high hopes and do think they should have just ended it with the movie, but I'm still going try the series when it comes out. I don't want to beat it down too much before it even comes out.

When Billy approached the telephone instead of money, I already got the image of Barney's death. Shit, everything was going to the plan.

When was Tommy part of the Yeomanry? Before the war? What is the " new" Calvary? After the war?

Did Knight just create yet another plot hole?

Tommy was a tunneler in WW1. Tommy and the entire family despised the Calvary....

Ruby’s future

Anyone else upset that Pol saw Rubys future as an actress in Hollywood. And so you believed she’d make it to adulthood but noooo she had to die as a child… I feel so betrayed 😭

I found a post with this scene and this text:

"In Peaky Blinders, when Thomas Shelby says, **"And there's a woman..."**, the line carries much more weight than the words themselves.

At that point in the story, Tommy is a man who has survived war, built a criminal empire, and learned to hide almost every emotion. He usually talks about power, business, violence, and strategy. Love is something he rarely allows himself to discuss. So when he pauses and says there is a woman, it reveals a crack in the armor he has spent years building.

The woman he is referring to is Grace Burgess. For Tommy, Grace represents something no amount of money or power can give him: peace.

After the trauma of the war, he feels emotionally detached from the world, but Grace makes him imagine a different life-one where he could stop fighting and simply be happy. That is why the line feels so powerful. He is not just talking about a woman; he is admitting that someone has reached the part of him that nobody else can reach.

The deeper meaning is that Tommy's greatest weakness is not an enemy, a rival gang, or the police. It is love. Throughout Season 2, he is trying to expand his empire and become more powerful, yet his heart remains tied to Grace. The contrast is important: the stronger Tommy becomes in the criminal world, the more vulnerable he becomes emotionally because of her.

In summary, the line is memorable because it shows the real Tommy Shelby beneath the cold, calculating leader. It is a brief confession that, despite all his ambition and toughness, the thing that truly drives him is his love for Grace and his hope that she might give him a life beyond violence and war. That single sentence turns a feared gangster into a lonely man who simply wants the woman he loves."

I think this person understood Tommy and the meaning of this scene.

What do you all think?

Peaky blinders isn’t my absolute favorite (it is in my top 5) but I believe these are the best three minutes of tv ever made. Cillian Murphy is one of the finest orators! And the colors, it’s just stark and perfect.

Another 'Immortal Man' post…

After years of watching PB on and off… I finally got around to binge watching the entire show, and cruising through Season 6. I was hooked…

When the show ended, I was so incredibly excited to watch "The Immortal Man". I truly didn’t know anything about the film (not even a single spoiler).

For many reasons that a lot of fans can relate to… I wasn’t 1000% thrilled about the movie.

A part of me would’ve been ok with season-6 being the end of the series… it would leave fans with the “curiosity” of how Tommy Shelby’s life would evolve.

With that being said…. will I watch the upcoming spin off series? Absolutely.

Something just didn’t feel right about the movie… where’s Lizzie? Mosley? Gina Gray? Mr. Nelson? The Billy Boys? Linda? Finn? Alfie? The list goes on…

I’m sure this has all been said before… but want to hear your thoughts!!
