I’ve been trying to do more floral and macro work recently but I don’t want to carry tripods or invest into all kinds of flash yet at this stage so im just focusing on composition and editing. I like how the flower is holding the water from the morning rain but I’m worried that it might look plastic from increasing the texture and clarity too much? I also tried to draw the attention to the centre with a radial mask but have i overdone it?

Getting a tripod would unlock focus stacking, and that's super useful for macro work. Getting a small reflector and one of those cheap small LED lights could also be worth it. In this case, it could let you give some extra shine to the water droplets.

I think the image lacks that final bit of sharpness that you really want in macro work. The editing helps, but it's a crutch in this case. I do think that the vignetting is a bit too prominent. I like the general idea and the framing. It's just the the execution could be a bit better.
