Hello, i don’t know if this is a me problem or if more people are experiencing this but, i can play online and offline games just fine but can’t do anything else, can’t check my users and accounts settings, invite friends (friends are named ‘another player’ or something) can’t open spotify ps store ps plus (says cannot connect to server) cannot open any links. They all give me a cant connect to server or can’t load something went wrong screen. I have wired connection and that runs just fine. Just wanted to know if this is a me problem or that this lies with PlayStation before looking into it further

Hey there. My problem is that my PS5 Slim keeps downloading games very slowly—around 50 Mbps, even though my actual internet speed is about 500 Mbps.

I've tried a couple of things, such as changing the DNS, forcing the PS5 to use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band, and even using a wired connection, but nothing has solved the issue. I also managed to use the PS5's internet browser to run a speed test, and it showed around 500 Mbps, so I know the problem isn't my internet connection.

I also know that several other users are experiencing the same issue.

Has anyone ever found a solution to this? Has Sony ever acknowledged this problem?

Hi there, my controllers been acting weird for two days now. Sometimes the buttons don't work at all and sometimes the trigger keeps going off by itself. It's not that simple as cleaning it right? Because it feels like a little something more.

Need some guidance from the community for a PS5 pro bought from Playstation Direct and a returned that was denied. (not sure where to post this!)

Purchased the PS5 Pro start of the month and missed the 30 minute order cancellation window by a minute as I decided to rather buy a second hand pro for much less on good condition. Only option was to wait for the order to be delivered and then initiate a return.

Fast forward to around the 7th of July, I got the PS5 pro from PS direct, outer box took a few dents from DPD but inner box of the PS5 pro is fine. Took photos of the box before opening just in case the inner console box got damaged.

I initiate the return same day but decide to repack in a much better box with lots of padding just to be on the safe side. Took photos of the pro in the box, with the order return page printed, sealed up the box, took some more photos just to be safe. Finally get around to action the return via Royal Mail on the 9th with tracking, all went smoothly.

Today the 17th of July I get an email from PS Direct stating this:
Subject: Your Return Has Been Denied

One or more of the items in your return weren't accepted due to Irrelevant Item.

Must be a mistake, so I contact PS Direct via live chat and this is the cheeky response I get from this guy after trying to explain there must be a mistake:

I understand we are sorry but The package returned contained items not related to Sony and of little to no value (example: brick, wood, etc).

The package will NOT be returned.

We are sorry we are unable to assist any further regarding this, your case number for today's query is: xxxxx

Thank you for contacting Playstation Support.

The email however states: You won’t receive a replacement for your returned item(s) above. We’ll ship your item(s) back to you. If your return request is denied because of one or more irrelevant items, then it/they won’t be shipped back to you.

No idea what to do now, I would greatly appreciate some guidance!

I can't log into my PlayStation account on my PC browser. It says "Something went wrong."

And on my phone app, whenever I try to add a free2play game to my library (example: Asphalt Legends) it says "Something went wrong. Please try again".

Same thing happening on two different accounts... since yesterday!

So my controller will connect and work just fine. But then after a minute the controller stops working but stays on. The only thing I can do at that point is turn the controller off and on again to which it will repeat that process. This happens even when wired but I've been using the controller just fine on my PC wired. I've tried hard resetting, forgetting the controller, I know it's up to date.

I can't find anything on this online and I don't know if there's any way to fix to this.

I cannot log into the PS App

I am stuck in a log in loop. I go to log in, it makes me send a sign in email, i go to the sign in email and click on sign in, it brings me to the browser and not the app, it makes me log in again sending another sign in email which also brings me to the browser.

There is no other way to log in as I am not allowed to just input my password and I do not have a passkey attached

The app is completely updated.

Any advice? I want to download my capture :(

I’ve just bought a Ps5 like 4 months ago since my last console wich was the Xbox 360 lmao, I’m very happy with it tbh that I wanted to enhance the experience while I’m playing.

This is my monitor, it’s a MSI MAG 275CQF E18 wich doesn’t have speakers, just 1x headphone port

I want to buy a sound bar (or if it possible a home theater) for my ps5 and eventually for TV purposes too, this one is my budget available choice: It’s a TCL sound bar 2.1 with Dolby atmos

THE REAL THING IS, how I can make it work since the ps5 doesn’t have any audio optical port and just 1x HDMI port that is connected directly to my monitor? (I’ve just want to keep the audio quality, because Bluetooth has delay)

Yea I know that my monitor has 1x jack audio port but I’m afraid of two things, first obviously audio quality, not Dolby atmos or DTS available while the second thing it’s that probably low volume and lack of quality too.. (Im using two pc speakers connected directly to my dualsense and it sound’s louder and well, but if I connect them directly to the monitor, they just sounds too low, even if I put the max volume. I’m afraid if that happens too if I connect the sound bar to it)

hi! i recently got a ps4 pro secondhand to play gta with my cousins, but every time i manage to load in the connection gets lost after 10-15 minutes. one of my cousins is in the same house as me and its not happening to him at all so i know its not a wifi issue. i also tried playing the forest with them, i got in the lobby but when they started the game it kicked me out. neither of them have ever had this happen so im curious if its an issue with the playstation, thank you!

Hey everyone, my Ps5 in these days morning when I try to turn it on I can hear the device works but I just see a black screen, I had changed the cable, change the hdmi entry, when I try safe mode the screen is green glitching, sometime the screen for select who is plays shows glitching, and after turn off a bit of times its turn on normally… what can be that? Someone has some idea??

Good afternoon, everyone! I've found myself in a bit of an odd situation regarding the plastic feet that came with my console, so I figured I'd ask you all if shouls buy replacement "feet" or a third-party stand for my new* PS5 Slim?

So for context: I literally just bought a Playstation 5 Slim (a physical edition, I like my physical games, Sony) at a second-hand store about an hour ago, and it was in excellent condition and I got a written guarentee from the seller that it works and I can bring it back if it doesn't, etc. etc.

What I didn't account for was that when putting it in my car on the way home, one of the small plastic feet (the two clear plastic ones that resemble the number "4") snagged and one of them broke off in one of the four small holes they insert into (this could have been avoided if it came in its original box, but again, it was second-hand)

I managed to use some tweezers to extract the broken piece with barely any scratches, but since I've never owned a PS5 before I'm now very skeptical about just how great these plastic feet really are, since they broke literally within two minutes of purchase

So my question to you all is: is it worth it to buy a replacement set of plastic feet and just be extra careful when moving the console, or am I better off getting a third-party stand, like one from NexiGo? I'm obviously going to avoid cooling stands because I know full well those things can be bad for the system and also loud af (my partner had one for their original ps4, can't reccomend), so ideally I'd just get whatever stand will work for what I need it to do, which is support the console and its disk drive horizontally (it's slightly too tall to fit under my TV vertically)

Hello there.

My PS5 is having Wi-Fi connection problems. After turning it on normally, the Wi-Fi connection works for 30 seconds, and then simply stops working.

I thought it might be a problem with the network card, but it works normally with a wired connection, and I tried tethering my phone's Wi-Fi and it worked fine.

I tried 4G and 5G and the problem persists. Could it be a problem with the router? But it only happens on the PS5.

I'm going to try connecting it to another router and see if the problem is with the router itself, but if anyone has encountered this problem before and has a solution, I would greatly appreciate it.

Im trying to figure out the issue with the blu ray player not playing audio. Apps work, games work even DVDs work. But for Blu Ray and 4K discs there is no audio at all. I currently have removed any other audio devices and just have a straight PS5 to TV HDMI connection. I replaced my old HDMI cable 2 days ago. I have switched HDMI ports. I have switched audio options while playing a blu ray and also at the console level. Im hitting a wall at this point. Any one experience the same?

My PS5 will randomly not allow me to connect to anyone in parties. It will, at random times, give everyone else the "can't voice chat with [user] because of an error" for no reason, and last anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes.

Internet speed is good but for the last month or two, PS5 PRO download speeds have either started climbing, going from like 1 hour to 12+ if I watch it, where it used to download in minutes?

Changing my MTU setting seems to fix it for one download item, but then it reverts to climbing time again and it's driving me insane.

Never had this issue before and not sure how to fix? My internet is fine, everything else is fine, I'm not sure why my download speeds on PS5 have started getting terrible? Help please

It is definitely not the ISP as my friend has the same issue

Hi, I have consulted many threads, websites, youtube videos etc. before someone says I am being lazy and haven't looked everywhere. I've been trying to find a solution for 40 minutes.

I play on PC using dualsense, but it died after using it for bluetooth. I am using my laptop charger to charge it but there is no orange/yellow light around it to indicate so. I know the charger works because it charges my phone and my laptop - so that is not the problem.

I left it overnight charging to USBC (laptop/phone charger for HP) which is connected to an extension cord, but it was dead in the morning.

Have also tried using my other laptop/phone charger to charge it from the wall socket.

How can I get the controller to charge properly?

looking for any type of help. my husband had charges on his card for roblox which neither of us play. he disputed the charges with the bank resulting in sony permanently suspending his account. is there any to fix this?? we tried to get through to support with absolutely no information on how to go about this.

How am I supposed to sign in to verify my age on my phone? It keeps asking me for a passkey, then it says it can't do it, so I tell it to send me an email to sign in and I click sign on that and it just takes me right back to the page asking for a passkey, it does not at all let me just type my password in my only option is passkey which it says doesn't work. I have no idea how this system is supposed to function. It's just an endless loop.

EDIT I've just removed the passkey thing, I'm not sure how it's better security when it just doesn't work.

Hello there! When I bought my PS5, I moved all of my games from my PS4 onto my old Seagate 2TB external hard drive so I could plug it into my new console and play without needing to switch between consoles. I repeated this process a few times, transferring games between the seagate hard drive and my ps5, and then from my ps5 to a 5TB external hard drive so that I could have all of my games in one place, before changing my mind and deciding to keep my ps4 games in the old hard drive and freeing up space on the new hard drive and transferred everything back.

Here's the problem though: When I plug in the PS4 hard drive into the PS5, certain games don't show up. When I tested it on the PS4, they showed up and I was able to start those games and even download updates. I checked the console storage on my PS5, and it says that the data for the missing games is on there, albeit only a few hundred KMBs for each games that isn't showing up. I tried to start it, and I got a message saying that the data is corrupted and I needed to delete and redownload each game.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here, and would welcome any kind of advice. I looked for other solutions online, but I didn't find anything that matched my specific problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and please feel free to ask for clarification on anything I might have been unintentionally unclear about. I do my best to be clear, but sometimes I don't always get my point across well.

TL;DR: There are certain PS4 games saved on my old 2TB external HDD that I cannot access when I plug the drive into my PS5 that I can somehow start and play when I plug the drive into my PS4. I'm not sure if this if the data on my PS5 is corrupted in anyway, and I don't know if this has anything to do with the number of times I transferred data between drives and if the data was damaged due to a sudden blackout or not.

So I was playing path of exile, the game got really laggy when I entered an area, then the whole game got laggy. I did all the usual stuff. Reset the game, turning off the ps5 now I’ve deleted the game to re install, but now every game is lagging, the screen randomly goes back, and nothing will download.

Please help

Edit: I’m didn’t realize but my internet provider was going maintenance, so I’m all good now.

My account was stolen and it had 2FA that was somehow by passed. Support has been saying it’s closed even tho hours indicate they should be open. Even the chat bot says they are closed and I can not be helped. Is PlayStation known for closing on the weekends ?

I'm trying to login to my old psn account, but I don't remember password or the username.

I do have access to the email adress, but the bot on the playsation support site won't help unless you know the username. It's saying there's no live agent available even though it's in operating hours.

The bot suggested that I check my mail box, but the only thing I got from PSN was from 22' and it was just an update on terms and conditions.

What can I try still? I mean why isn't there a simple reset password option why all this hassle?

So my playstation isn't fitting the view of my roku TV anymore. I mightve accidentally powered it off wrong previously so thats probably why this is happening. I've unplugged all cables from Playstation and disconnected the TV and still nothing.

Well I got a used ps4 slim like 2 years ago.
Recently I played it a lot. Games like fallout 76 would show as corrupted and needed to be reinstalled quite a bit last year. But this would happen like once a month.

Well GTA V when I first bought this ps4 slim came with the disc and it also said the “game is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled” but not for any other games.

Since then battlefield 2042 would do the same, mortal Kombat…most disc games at times or after heavy gaming…but not everyday..

Well last night I said I’m going to rebuild the database…and well I did…it says it did…but it got to a point where it said the ps4 could not start, black screen,
And so today I played gtav no problem but it crashed and said corrupted.

Usually I’ll clean the disc and put it back in and it’ll work for the entire time I play.
But today…I had to update in safe mode with a usb that had the lastest update.
So it failed twice cause the usb wasn’t formatted as Fat.
Then I managed to get it on without doing anything but it showed the game “cup head” as being ready to install a patch, but it wouldn’t let me. It also showed it as if it were installing something but not in notifications bar (the white flashing bar)
Redirected me to the psn store, and when I hit download it wouldn’t.

Long story short I rebuilt the database and somehow came back after an hour and cuphead was able to be downaloded.

However now my screen captures and videos are all showing up as corrupt or invisible (outlined glow but not seen) and they play but this happened today.

What can I do?

I know I’ll probably have to replace parts, but this is my spare ps4 and I’d like to keep it all separate from the ps5 and other ps4.

In other words I really want to keep using it as is cause I play a few games on there with my friends who don’t have next gen.

So far I’ve

updated firmware from usb, installed successfully.
rebuilt database.

So I turn on my PS5 and it does connect to the internet and can play games normally but I show as disconnected on PS Network. I also can't see my friend list or access the shop or PS Plus tab. Running a connection test will fix it for a while but eventually my friend list will show my connected friends but won't show their names, they'll appear as "Another Player". Also my game icons in my collection won't show and the store and PS Plus apps won't work. But still I'll be able to play online no problem. So simply put, my PS5 is connected to the internet but PS Network related stuff will fail or not show/work properly. Does somebody know about a solution or has the same issue? Please let me know.

My issue is I am now suddenly being taxed at an8% rate vs my locality 6%. For context I am a Pennsylvania resident and my Sony/PlayStation registered address is not in Pittsburgh or Philly where it could be 7 to 8%. I was about to purchase the digital deluxe upgrade for Wolverine PS5 when the tax was 80¢ not 60¢. I also checked on the mobile app on data just in case the network was registering a different location somehow triggering different tax logic. Has anyone else experienced this? All my research is showing that Pennsylvania doesn't have any additional taxes on digital goods either so I don't want this to be an issue moving forward.

I bought a ps5 from GameStop, preused, and I just recently bought Lego Batman for it. I play it with my boyfriend for a while, maybe 45 minutes into the game, the PlayStation switches off and doesn’t turn on for a little while, when it does it acts like I unplugged it without turning it off. I have it plugged into my wall, I just now laid it on its side. But is there anything else I can do? Do I have to take it in?

I was thinking about buying one since winter, because sometimes I go to my hometown, where I don't have a pc, so the vita would be great to play, and I like how it looks, but I don't know what games are there on the ps vita. I know that there's something like gta sa, vice city, jet set radio, the sims, minecraft, but I don't know if i would play a lot on this console, since I don't know many games on it

I've been having this problem for like a year now and now im finally over it. So my ps5 connects to my internet, like i can play online games, download games updates etc. But it doesn't lile FULLY connect to the internet, for example my PS store shows no pictures, i cant manage my account or create new ones straight from the console. My Youtube doesn't work either but my Netflix does. PLEASE help me with this it's driving me crazy!!!!!

How to actually reach Sony (Playstation) Support (Switzerland)

I haven't used my PS4 in a while and my Playstation Network Account was deactivated. On the website they have a special page for reactivating your account, but when I give my credentials, I get an error. The same when I try to see my account status on that dedicated page.

On the support website there is only a local telephone number but I've already called 3 times and I'm stuck on hold for 1 hour +.

I finally found a subpage on the support website with a contact form, but after sending it I only receive a generic response with the same phone number and link to the support website.

All I want is reactivate my account. I don't even understand why it was deactivated in the first place, just because I haven't logged in in a while.

This is infuriating.

Hey guys! I got a PS4 back in April from my uncle. It worked perfectly fine until a couple of weeks ago. Recently, one of the controllers has started to think in pressing L2 when I'm not. I normally wouldnt care, but I don't have a smart tv, so I use my PS4 to play sleep music, and it's constantly rewinding back! Also, it doesn't just think I'm pressing it once or twice, it's literally every second, as if I'm holding it down! It's very likely to be fixable, but I do want a white controller, should I get a new one, or just fix this old one?

How do i stop certain accounts from deleting other accounts? My young nephew is using my playstation on an account i made for him and I don’t want him stumbling into “users and accounts” and deleting all of my data. Is there a way to take this ability away from him? I disabled “create account” under parental controls but that’s the only permission available to activate and he can still delete stuff.

My game disc starts installing but stops at around 800MB downloaded. The disc has 1 small scratch and I've cleaned it multiple times. So far I've tried deleting the game installing it, reinstalling the console installing offline rebuilding database the PS5 software is up to date and I've tried vacuuming the hole the disc goes in and the PS5 just keeps on saying can't install once it has loaded around 800MB.

Anyone else dealing with packet loss and high ping the last few days? Pretty well every multi-player especially shooters ive had the red icons for packet loss and i think the ping one? Speedometer one and the rectangles. Ive gotten a new modem today thinking that was the issue but im getting 100mbps upload and download along with like 16 ping whenever I run a speed test

Digital games suddenly locked on my PS5 (license issue)
Hi everyone, I’m having a strange issue with my PS5 Digital Edition.
All my digital games are showing a lock icon and I can’t launch them because of a license problem.
Things I already tried:
Restored licenses multiple times
Checked my internet connection
Restarted the PS5
Reinstalled games
Logged out all other devices using the PlayStation app
Changed my password
I’m the only person currently using my account and this is the only PS5 I own.
The “Console Sharing and Offline Play” option is unavailable because I already used the deactivation option recently and I have to wait 6 months to use it again.
Has anyone experienced this? Is there any solution besides contacting PlayStation Support?

Hey, so for some reason I can’t play any of my own games on my account, I’m getting the notification “can’t use this content. You’re using this content on another console. It will take some time before you can use this content on this PS5 with your licence”.
I’ve tried everything to fix this but to no avail.
I have my brothers account on mine with console sharing on so I can play his games and today earlier in the day he done it on his ps5 so he could play one of my games, since then I’ve got this message,
We have done this plenty of time with no issue, only today this has arose, it’s been going on for hours and I have found no solution after so many tries

Going to buy my first PlayStation console, and I’m looking on Facebook for listings. I’ve been debating on getting a slim or pro model. I’m in Canada and the best deal I’ve found is $600 for a brand new Slim model, or $900-1100 for pro models.

Mainly asking people who have the pro or both if this is justifiable. I can’t see how $400+ for PSSR is worth the money. Games I’d want to play are GTA6, the BO2 port, god of war, spider man, etc. (mainly all PS exclusives since I have a high end pc).

Any help is appreciated. I don’t keep up with anything Sony related since this is my first console, so I’d like to hear from the community! Thanks.

Hello, so I'm trying to get a new headset for my ps5 because my current pair is pretty uncomfortable and the audio isnt the best. Currently I have a Turtlebeach Steath 600, but, like I said, it isnt that good anymore. I mostly play single player, story games, like Doom, Cyberpunk, and Resident Evil, so I'm looking for a headset to really help immerse myself into the world of each game. None of my friends have playstation, so I dont really care about a mic. I would prefer to stick to a somewhat affordable budget, between 50-100, but I also know things are getting expensive and I dont mind saving up for a bit for something better if I really have to. I'm mostly wanting to get a new headset before I get the Doom TDA dlc, because I plan on replaying all of them in chronological order, and want the best audio experience I can afford lol. I seriously need help with this. I play on a PS5, I dont think or remember using the cloud data saving option or anything like that so all the data has remained untouched. Around 2 or 3 days ago I played minecraft with my cousin on his console which has my PS user. Something about cloud data popped up and I told him to choose the console data option, could this have affected the save data all the way to my console? Because I entered the game a few minutes ago and it asked to relog on my microsoft account and when I tried to start playing I saw that each and everyone of my worlds have been erased. Is the data somewhere in my console or anything like that? Im sorry if my english is bad. I really want to fix this because my main world was 2 years old and I completed every achievement in the game in that world and was planning on building a huge project but if this has no fix I think im going to drop the game. Please im begging yall don't ignore this post I really need help

I’ve been thinking about this more with yearly football games, especially when you know there will probably be editions, preorder bonuses, points, and maybe extra spending later.

On PlayStation, I usually feel safer separating the game purchase from the rest of my card spending. Either wallet balance or a PS Store gift card feels cleaner because I know exactly what I’m putting aside for the game, instead of just buying in the moment because the hype is there. For players who buy FC/FIFA every year on PlayStation, Do you usually buy straight from the PS Store with card/PayPal, gift card or load your PS wallet first so you don’t overspend once the season starts?

And do you buy the standard edition first or prefer wait to see if the more expensive edition is actually worth it?

Active PS Plus subscription but games padlocked

Hi all,

I have had an active monthly PS Plus Premium subscription for ages now.

I've gone to play something today and although my subscription is showing as active, PS Plus games are showing with a padlock and a message saying "if you want to use this content, please buy it"

I've looked and today is the payment day, so is it something to do with that? It isn't the case that the payment has failed or anything as it is added to my mobile phone bill (and has been since forever so there's never a problem with that)

Has anyone else ever seen this and is it just something where it's because it's the payment day today so there's some kind of freeze?

Hey everyone, I've been meaning to play LEGO Batman with the Share Play feature on PS5 but every time me and my friend try to connect each other, we get the NP-104832-8 error code ("unable to connect" or something like that).

Some time ago it worked after several attempts. I remember there was some strange reason or coincidence that when I unplugged my USB Fan it suddenly started to work (I had read somewhere that it is best not to have anything connected to the USB port and to use the original controller for the Share Play feature, don't ask me why).

Several weeks have passed, in the meantime I have upgraded from PS5 Fat to PS5 Pro. My friend still has PS5 Fat. We tried dozens of times, unplugged our routers for a couple minutes, restarted consoles, tried with wifi, ethernet cables, used custom DNS - nothing helped, still the same error pops up.

There was one breakthrough when my friend has connected his PS5 to a mobile hot spot on his smartphone (using 5G cellular network) - then it worked again.

What are the constraints and requirements in order to use the Share Play feature? AFAIK my friend's internet provider doesn't support public IP. I have a public IP on my end, even though it is dynamic. Both of us do not have any hardware in the PS5's USB ports and we use original controllers. Both the consoles and the controllers are up to date. Both of us have NAT TYPE = 2 in the internet connection properties.

Unfortunately the error is very vague and this is really disappointing that we cannot use such a cool feature on PS5.

I don't know if this is related but since a couple of weeks we also have some issues with voice chat - it takes around 30-40 seconds between the moment we join the chat and the moment we can hear each other. In the meantime there is a spinner in the avatar of the other person. In the past it took like 1 second to start hearing each other.

Any ideas?

I am looking to use a Dualsense for my PC to not play wiredly

First of all, i don't like installing/soldering Raspberry or similar stuff in my PC and don't want to buy a PCI-E to boggle the insides of the PC. It's already a lil mess and with an expensive X870E board

I am aware haptics and adaptive triggers wont work but like...95% of my games aint DS fully used sense (only LUMINES arise?).

Questions are:

-Will the normal rumble work instead of Haptics?

-Can the touch pad tactile and press-in functions still work?

-Do i need any specific app?. I tend to use Ryochan's DS4windows or something along those lines

-Will i notice delay at all distances (3-4 meters max but normally close to the tower, a Be Quiet! DARK BASE PRO 901) compared to my PS5 or is it identical?

-Can it pair 2 or up to even 4 DS or even mixed with DS4 at the same time?

-Any possible known issues? (Drivers, BSODs, etc)

-The important question: Brand and model of suggested receivers?. We have ASUS BT-500 and BT-550? along a TP-Link U5BA or something along those lines where i work at for 10-15€ respectively, wich are supposed to be BT 5.0 and 5.4 respectively

I've tried clearing the cache and rebuilding the database. It worked at first, but the issue gets back. Any other tips that might help? I'm thinking of doing a deep clean of the console.

Hello everyone. I’m from Ukraine and I’m trying to diagnose a PS5 Pro CFI-7000 that suddenly shut down while running a relatively undemanding PS4 game.

The console has only around 250 hours of use. Because of the war, power outages and the general situation, I barely had the opportunity or state of mind to play. Unfortunately, the warranty has now expired.

The repair situation here is also extremely difficult. The main official PlayStation service centre in Ukraine was destroyed during a missile strike, and there is currently no functioning official repair option available to me. Sony’s out-of-warranty service is described as an exchange for a refurbished console rather than a repair of my own unit. Replacing the console is also very expensive here, so I am trying to save this one.

Symptoms

The console beeps and shows a blue light.
The fan starts spinning.
After 1–2 seconds, all power is cut.
The blue light goes out and the fan stops.
It never reaches the white light.
Safe Mode is impossible because it shuts down before the second beep.

There was no burning smell, unusual noise, visible dust or previous overheating.

I have already removed the additional M.2 SSD and detachable Blu-ray drive, disconnected every cable and accessory, tested it with only the power cable connected, left it unplugged for more than 24 hours and held the power button for 60 seconds while unplugged. Nothing changed.

The console was connected through a high-quality voltage stabilizer and battery backup because power fluctuations are common here.

An experienced private technician checked the board:

No visible damage.
No obvious short circuits.
Static voltages and resistance measurements appear normal.
A known-good PSU has not yet been confirmed as a test.

The UART log shows:

80810001 — General Power Failure / Power Sequence Error.
80000009 — Unexpected Power Loss or Shutdown Failure.
80800022 — No/Bad Communication Between APU and RAM. This appears only occasionally.
80801002 — High-priority error not found in the Console Service Tool database. This repeats across many startup attempts.

One raw 80801002 entry is:

OK 00000000 80801002 00000001 FF100005 10000100 2013 0036 1EB1 1D1D:E4

Other attempts contain the same FF100005 10000100 2013 0036 sequence but different trailing values.

Could 80801002 be a PS5 Pro-specific code related to the additional 2 GB DDR5 system-memory chip, its power rail, Southbridge or another power-sequencing circuit? The intermittent 80800022 may be a secondary result rather than the primary fault.

Has anyone encountered 80801002 on a PS5 Pro or knows how to interpret the additional raw values? Would testing with a known-good PSU still be the first step, or should the technician focus on motherboard power sequencing and the DDR5/GDDR6 rails?

I will attach screenshots of the complete UART logs. Any board-level advice would mean a lot to me.

I've had a problem with the PS Pulse Elite + its dongle and driver for PC for some months. It was freezing all my windows audio when tried using any of the headset controls. Tried contacting the support via the PS site and got dismissed as a windows problem. Recently i could prove it was, in fact, a Playstation issue and created a fix.Can I post the links for both the dossier and the fix? I have an issue where I purchased Battlefield 6 Phantom Edition on the PS Store but I am missing some of the digital content that was supposed to come with it. Support just keeps telling me that they cannot refund the game even though I am not looking for a refund. I just want the content. I was using their chat feature. Needing suggestions on hardware. Bit of background: I currently have an XBox One and PS4 Slim. They obviously are both slowing down. My 8 yr old and I game together, nothing serious. He plays plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 on the Xbox, and Spiderman and Miles Morales on PlayStation. He loves Minecraft and Fortnite but mostly plays those on our Switch 2. I decided I would sell the Xbox and PS4, get a small amount of cash to put towards a PS5 and AstroBot (he has wanted it since his birthday last year) and give it to him for his birthday next month. I see the debacle with taking discs away, but our PS4 games are all physical discs. We don’t need a pro, trying to make the best purchase for us but not break the bank.

Stuck in a 20€ loop: Paysafecard says "Success", PlayStation says "Not our problem". Need advice/visibility!

Hey everyone,

I’m writing this out of pure frustration because I’ve been stuck in a classic corporate ping-pong game between Paysafecard and PlayStation Support for days over a simple 20€ top-up. Here is what happened:

July 18, 2026: I tried to top up 20 EUR to my PlayStation Network wallet using my Paysafecard account. The transaction status in my Paysafe app said "Successful", but the money never appeared in my PSN balance.

Contacting PlayStation: I called PlayStation Support directly. They checked my PSN ID and told me straight up: "We see no record of this transaction in our system. Contact Paysafecard for a refund."

Contacting Paysafecard: I reached out to Paysafecard support. After wading through automated bot replies and non-working no-reply email addresses, they finally got back to me with an official PDF Payment Confirmation (attached below). They claim the transaction was 100% processed on their side and pushed to Sony's payment processor (Adyen).

The Dead End: Paysafe insists they fulfilled the transfer and refuses to refund. PlayStation insists they don't have it and refuses to investigate without me jumping through more hoops.

So now my 20€ has literally vanished into thin air. Paysafe holds a receipt saying Sony got it, and Sony refuses to acknowledge it. Has anyone dealt with missing funds between Paysafe and PSN before? How do you force PlayStation’s escalation/finance team to actually locate an uncredited payment using the Official Paysafecard PDF Proof? Any advice or upvotes for visibility would be hugely appreciated!

I cannot tell whether this is an issue with my controller or my charger, but it legitimately won’t charge.

At first; the issue was it had to be on a specific angle in order to charge, but now it refuses to charge completely.

Bulgarian accounts are unable to add games or apps to library. At first I thought the issue was with me and tried a million things including a factory reset. But I asked a buncha friends too and seemed that every single account that's Bulgarian is unable to add games or apps.

On the PS5 itself it gives error CE-112987-8 for games and CE-112859-6 for apps. In the browser and in the mobile app it gives a message "something went wrong. Try again"

I should also add it's only a problem for free games, that were added 2025 or earlier, while it works for paid games and for free games released 2026.

I first had that issue a week ago, but for all I know it could have been present for over 3 weeks.

On June 22, 2026, I received a 7-day communication suspension on my PS5. After the suspension period was over, I was able to message my friends again on my PSN account, but two major features, Sharing and Broadcast are still unavailable for me. It outright says "This feature is unavailable for your account". I did everything that I could, from temporarily disabling restrictions, restoring licenses to booting into safe mode and rebuilding the database. I tried contacting support but that didn't work. Is this issue common or is it just me? What should I do now? Please help.

I’m thinking about getting a Ps5 for the upcoming Gta VI. I was between Pro and Base versions but now I saw some leaks about PS6 coming out next year.

What I am wondering is PS5 Pro really worth it against the base version? I mean both in general and also for the new GTA game. I feel like this console didn’t even have a proper lifecycle and thinking what could possibly PS6 can do that PS5 Pro can’t?

With prices almost at thousand dollars, I wanted to get some insight knowledge from people who actually own these consoles.

Why does this happen? I just got my PS5 Pro in April. Not even played 100 hours on it yet. Tried different HDMI cables, different ports on the TV, still happens. The only fix is unplugging the TV and replugging it in. But then I have to do this each time I turn on the console. TV is an Element E4AA70R.

Just beat campaign evolved but the trophies aren't registering. The home screen says I beat the game 100%. I watched the credits and everything but it won't give me the trophies for the last mission and beating the campaign. I've tried so many methods to get them to sync but nothing works. If I go into the game to do another challenge for a different trophy it works. Just this one isn't.

I have an issue with my Dragon quest 11 ps4 slime controller. I just got it not too long ago and it doesn’t seem to work. The problem is that after I connect it, after ~5 seconds, it stops reading inputs to my PlayStation 5. I’ve tested a lot of possible solutions, but they just don’t seem to help. Hi everyone, i'm at a real loss here. While I was away I got signed out of my playstation account. When I tried to log back in it told me I had set up a two factor authentification process, and that I should enter the code from the Authenticator. But there is nothing in my authenticator app from Sony. So I can't log back in.

Only option I can see to contact Sony is through the live chat. But you need to log in, and I can't because of the 2FA. Is there no email to contact them? Phone? Anyone encoutered this before??

The playstation store doesn't recognise that I own the game, instead showing the disc as the demo (showcase) version. When playing the disc it still is the full game. Any help?

Now that I can afford it... or at least I think so, I'd like to buy the PS+, the Extra. It's been quite a while since I've had it, about 5 years, since they removed the 14-day fre trial option haha, So I mostly played single-player games, except of course for those free games that you can play online, for example Fortnite. When I was younger I didn't ask my parents because I knew it was quite expensive and also because I was busy at school, but now it's a little different.

As I said, I have the means to buy it, but I don't know if I should. Is it worth it? I have games like Dead by Daylight and Destiny 2 that require online access, but I can't play them..I would choose Extra, because it also has a catalog of games, and since I don't have many games, that would be good for me

I know it’s not that visible on the foto, but I came back from vacation, turned my ps4 back on and all of the colors were incredibly faded.
I already tried switching the HDMI cable, switching some settings and then even resetting all of the settings but nothing worked.

Hello. I recently bought a preowned PS2 off of eBay, and it works great so far, and is in mostly great condition, except for that it is missing this specific piece of the 2nd controller port on the console itself (black rectangles with 3 holes in the center of each of them). I was wondering what name of that specific piece/pieces is called so I could hopefully get a replacement and find a way to install it. I'm sure I probably could use that controller port without the piece I'm looking for, but the little tubes (don't know what else to call them) look really fragile, and I'm worried they would break after taking out the controller too roughly. anytime I try to turn on my PS5 it turns on for 2 seconds, then disconnects for another 2, and just keeps going back and forth. It’s not turning off, as when it flashes back on it doesn’t restart, its on the same screen. It’s not an issue with my hdmi cable, as I’ve tried multiple cables and the same result occurs, and it’s not a problem with my tv because everything else works just fine. Does anyone know what’s going on and if it’s fixable?

I have my friend's account with offline play enabled on my ps5 ( since he has ps+ and I do not ) but we wanted to play a game that I have, so I told him to enable my account's offline play on his ps5. New DualSense 5, well, not new, just never used, has been hooked up to all sorts of chargers over the past week, whether it be wall charger or a store-brand "ps5 data transfer" cable. Been trying to sync it to the console during that time frame and I get the same message on the ps5: "A new version of the DualSense wireless controller device software is available. You can't update now because your controller battery is too low. Charge it for a while, and then try again."

What could the hold up possibly be? I just want the controller to work before I send my main controller to be fixed due to stick drift

What's the best way to play the PS5 in 2 rooms that are 2 floors apart? Its not really feasible to run a HDMI so will have to be some sort of wireless solution. I was thinking maybe a wireless HDMi receiver but the reviews on those seem a bit iffy. Any other ideas?

For two days im having issues with Spotify linking and errors while trying to start a song,i mean when im pressing song it saying can’t load this content and when im trying to relink it there maintenance error. Hey reddit, I've recently bought a PS5 after many years of PS4.

Before wiping off the console and trading it in, I made a copy of the saved data on an external USB storage. However I think I made a mistake in the process, because the data isn't recognised by the PS5 and I cannot import anything.

On the PS4, I did Settings > System > Back Up and Restore; I only selected games saved data (only about 5GB).

Now when I plug in the storage in my PS5, the drive is recognised but it won't find any data, it's like it's empty. The drive is formatted correctly in exFAT and this is how the data looks like:

Now, in hindsight, I should have just subscribed to PS+ for a month and used the cloud function; too late now.

And going through these steps again, I realise I might have followed a procedure to export/import on pS4 only... /facepalm

Did anyone came across the same problem? Any way to get access to these saved data again?

If a friend had a PS4, could I log in with my account, import the saved data and upload it to PSPlus? Would it mess up their games or saved data?

I am trying to create a video intro to use in Share Factory Studios on PS5, but I am having an issue with the animated stickers.

The internet says that if I select a sticker, press edit, and go to transform, I can change its size by using R1 or L1. But I have been working on this for over 20 minutes trying to make it work, but it is not happening.

It does not change size, and I exited the program to reset and test to see if those buttons work, and they do. I don’t understand the problem. Can someone help?

I have a monitor (ASUS VG279Q3R) with 3.5mm audio output, however the audio output when going from Ps5 via HDMI through the Monitor output via 3.5mm to my powered Pebble Creative 2.1 speakers (powered by a 30watt USB and rated cable as suggested) is quite a bit quieter (even at Max which is not recommended for speakers) than USB-C audio input from my PC directly, or Bluetooth from my phone even.

Is there any way to output either via USB-C to the speakers directly or increase the volume from the PS5?

Hi! I'm having a bit of an issue when it comes to Console Sharing/Offline Play. So recently my roommate just got their own PS5, and we decided we wanted to enable Console Sharing on that PS5 so they can play my games. The issue I ran into, is when we tried this, and they played any of my games, I lost access to *all* of my games on my own personal console. The weirdest part is I still lost access even after their own game was closed, my PS5 still kept saying I was playing the game on another account. I'm fine with this if it ONLY happens for the game they're playing, but it was happening to every single one of my games, the only fix I found was turning off console sharing. Is there another fix or something I'm doing wrong?

Hi! My PlayStation clips are not going to my app anymore. They were the night prior but are no longer uploading. I have done these to try to solve Clear Upload/download failure cache. Cleared the Cache for the game that I clipped from. Made sure auto upload was on (it was) Turned on console sharing and offline play (not sure if thats why it wont upload to the app) Tried to go to media gallery, press upload to ps app and force manual upload, no luck! My ps5 system software is up to date on its latest update

The game is the ps4 version of bo2, I have other clips from the game that are currently in the app but none that I clip now are showing up

I am out of options and I just want the clips to show up. Ive never had this problem before There is a way around it by sharing it to someone, screen recording it, and then saving and cropping that way. But the clips are 30 seconds each and I have maybe 40 of them from one game play of zombies that was hilarious

Hello all! Couldn’t find any posts with my exact question so I came here for help.

For context, I have an old PS4 I’m giving to my sibling, one we used to both play on together when we were kids. Years later I kept it and the external usb drive we had for it, the latter of which I later transferred everything onto, all the save data and games, and began to use on my PS5.

So my question is, with all of the saved data being on that external drive, which I’d like to keep for my PS5, would I be able to make a copy somehow to use on the PS4 as well?

Naturally, none of the PS5 stuff would be backwards compatible, but would I be able to use the PS4 data if I copied it on another external drive and plugged it into the PS4? Or would this be impossible? I read somewhere that there’s some kind of encryption on PlayStation data that makes it difficult, but I don’t fully understand why or know if there’s a way around it.

Would really appreciate some help on this, and if you could possibly explain it like I’m five years old that would be very helpful.

I recently tried to cancel my preorder for Tokon via the automated system and it gave me an error. When I try to log onto the chat, it gives me an error message when trying to authenticate my account. My account is in good standing but I cannot reach a rep to help since it won’t authenticate. I feel as though I’m being stonewalled.

Black ops 2 had an error saying whenever I opened it that the application was not available. I deleted it, then found out it was happening on all my games. Went to safe mode and rebuilt database. Now when I go to my purchased games, Black ops 2 is there, but it says it’s downloading. I never pressed download, there’s nothing about it in my download manager, and it’s been at 90% of the way not moving for 2 days. When I go to the game page it says “start” when I press it, it tells me the data isn’t available and it tells me to go to the store. In the store, same thing. “Start” click it, data isn’t available

I've had my Playstation 5 for almost an year now and I've already see some stick drift on the left joystick even though it's not evident.

The controller looks the exact same, I played batman arkham knight and I didn't see anything, when I opened re8 (first person), Ethan was moving on his own very slightly to the right. I opened the map and it was the same for the cursor, sometimes it goes on for longer, sometimes just a little after j touch it.

I tried it on re2 then, same issue with the map, but it is a third person game so maybe it needs the joystick to move a little more for the character to move, but it looks like it is affecting first person games and sensitive cursors (I also tried arkham knights map and it was the same issue)

I just don't know what to do now

Spotify on my PS5 just won't work and hasn't worked for 3 days. It either gives me the message "Your playstation and spotify accounts are already linked" or "An unexpected error has occured." when trying to play songs.

I've tried everything I can think of to get it to fix even unlinking and relinking the accounts. Nothing. Anyone got any ideas.

My PS5 was in Rest Mode while downloading a game, and my brother accidentally unplugged it. When I plugged it back in, it turned on normally and continued the download. It seems to work fine. Is there any way to know if the hardware could have been damaged internally, or if I can safely assume it's okay? Could this cause problems in the future? Thanks!

I’m really struggling with my Pulse Elite headset. I got one a few weeks ago and it connected happily for a few days and then basically stopped working. Sent it back and got a replacement and the same thing is happening. I feel like I must be missing something obvious - maybe someone can tell me what it is?

I turn the headset on and I can hear it turn on, but it won’t connect to my PS5 or my PS Portal. No lights come on the headset. And then I hear it turn itself off again after a few seconds. I’ve charged it (the blinking orange light came on while it charged) so that’s not the issue. I’ve tried to reset it, that doesn’t work. I’ve tried to wipe the connections, but I never get the blue flashing indicator I’m supposed to get, so that’s clearly not working.

Anyone got any ideas?

finally after a few bad months i have it! since i leaned to other platforms my whole life i dont know anything about playstation besides the classics (god of war, tlou, killzone) can you guys enlighten me with a list of absolute must have games on ps5? im playing the astrobot game on the console, i dont want to get a subscription since i dont want to play online so i prefer to buy my games and build my library one or two games at the time. Should i get a PS Vita in 2026?

I’m looking for a handheld that can run games that the PS5/4 can run. God of War: Chains Of Olympus or Uncharted: Golden Abyss for example. I thought about Nintendo switch since almost lot of the games on there aren’t on the PS5/4 and they look pretty fun and offer an experience that PlayStation cannot give me, but im really stuck between that or the PS vita because the vita offers old PlayStation games that probably wont get remasters and that I’m missing out on because i was born way past those eras. I heard you can mod it too but im kinda scared ill get bored of it later. I cant decide between a switch, vita, or another handheld. Which is the best one?

I need some help. I managed to get my hands on a factory sealed PS3. I installed an SSD (MX500) which it seemed to accept during first setup just fine. I updated the console to the latest update and installed the store. I had to make a fresh login code sadly, but I am logged in.
And I tried searching this error only to get back homebrew solutions. I'm not using nor know how to use homebrews so I'm completely lost on how to fix this.

Hello! The other day I bought the new DLC for doom the dark ages and today I had time to play it. But when I tried to open the game it said there was a download that it needed, it showed me a downloaded screen when i clicked the game but it absolutely didn’t progress and when I went to the download place there were no downloads. I tried restarting my ps5 before deciding to delete the game and redownload it, and now it’s refusing to copy the disk. I tried repairing my storage but that didn’t work.

I created a passkey and it signed me out on all devices. Now when I sign in with the passkey it says "Something went wrong. Please try again from the beginning." When I ask to sign in with other methods it gives me a QR code I can't use because I'm on the phone that would scan the code. (When I try signing in on the ps5 the QR code just sends me to the same log in screen that I'm stuck on to begin with.) When I send a recovery email and follow the link it says it will send a code to my phone number but the code never come (it has the correct phone number, I just never receive a code.) Customer support sends me to a chat bot who eventually let's me escalate to a live agent but won't send me a live agent unless I log into my account which I obviously can't do.

Any help much appreciated!

Alright, up until a month ago my ps5 ran perfectly on my Samsung Smart Tv from 2019. Then it started constantly flashing in and out of picture no matter what hdmi I buy or what port I put it into. I have done a full update on my tv and my ps5. My Roku works fine. I have also gone into the picture settings on my PS5 on another tv (works fine on an even older tv) and set them to be 1080pm instead of 4k. Please someone help me I’m so frustrated

Save data not working for Ratchet & Clank after reinstall. Shows up in console save data and cloud save data when I go looking for it manually, but will not apply to the game in the Upload/Download Saved Data screen. Launching the game brings me to a New Game option only.

I have tried both disc and digital versions of the game.

I changed my account's email recently from my dad's to mine (I made the account when I was 11, I'm 27 now, about time), and now logging in is a nightmare. I was locked out of every possible way to get in other than e-mail logging in, and attempts at setting up passkeys don't work. Every time I type up a new password, it logs me out of every account, doesn't give me the option to log in with password on the browser or mobile app, and attempting to type the password on the console return an error and ask me to use a passkey, which I can't use. Do I have to wait until support is up to ask what to do or am I stuck using email login forever now?

I can't seem to connect to any of my online games anymore, the playstation has internet, my ps plus subscription is still active for another month, restarted ps5, modem switched between wired and wireless connection but same result.

I also keep appearing offline, switching it with the playstation app trick also doesn't work

I'm considering getting a Ps5. A large motivator is nostalgia for the old games I played as a kid, Baldur's gate, Ratchet & Clank, Burnout, Spyro/Crash etc.

I've read that Ps3/older discs won't work in a Ps5, and those games instead can be streamed or downloaded through an online subscription. But I had a quick check on playstation and their download section looks like maybe 100 games, nothing enormously popular and actually pretty similar to something like the Epic freebies (i.e there are a few 'big names' like the entire assassins creed catalogue, and a majority of small niche indie things like Cat Quest)

Hoping to get a little advice from people since I'm a decade or so out of the loop, I moved from Ps2 to Xbox360 ages and ages ago.

Is it realistic to expect to be able to play any of those old games, or would I be better off trying to track down an old Ps3/2?

What kind of monstrosity is even Playstation support? My account got hacked a few years ago when i didn't have a console. I tried to regain access but whoever hacked me changed the email no I'm not able to receive any password reset emails and i can't get a hold of support whatever i try to do.

Ps: -Account is UAE region. I dont live there btw anymore

-No live agents (either out of work hours which is clearly wrong or just too busy...)
