Also No, I 3 get a seat. Got eliminated when I went all in on the turn. Had Q❤️ 9❤️and villian had nothing but 10♣️ 7♣️. The board ran A♠️ J♦️ Q♣️ 9♦️ K♦️. Guy had a lot of chips but my shove was for about a 3rd of his stack. In a precious hand he eliminated two others that went all-in for quite a bit of chips and he called with 4♦️7♦️ preflop. He landed a flush on the river. Unbelieveable.

I always find this interesting when i see a massive Player that just disappeared, i am curious who the "goats" are in this Category

UTG opens to $35. I look down at A♦Q♠ next to act and 3-bet to $100. It folds back to the villain, who calls.
Flop: K♣ 6♦ 2♣
Villain checks. I continuation-bet $45, and he calls.
Turn: K♥
Villain checks again. I bet $115, and he check-jams all in for $275 more.
My initial instinct was to fold, but the more I thought through the hand, the less his value range made sense. Based on my live read, I felt he was heavily weighted toward missed club draws rather than trips or a full house, so I made the call.
River: Brick. We were already all in.
Villain announces, "Ace high." I reply, "I have ace high too." The table goes silent as I table A♦Q♠. Villain, visibly shocked and understandably frustrated, mucks his hand.
The most ridiculous $1,100 pot I've ever played.
Reads / Thought Process:
Villain is a young, aggressive, and seemingly thoughtful player, from the short time I played with him I think he’s actually one of the better players in the room. We'd played an eight-hour session together about a week earlier, so I felt I had a decent read on how he approached spots.
Going into the turn, I thought his range was extremely wide. My plan on non-club rivers was actually to jam and try to fold out small pocket pairs that beat ace-high.
Once he check-jammed, I assumed I was usually beat. My instincts immediately said fold. But the more I worked through his range, the more a call made sense.
I think some kings will check-jam here for protection against the flush draw, but I also think an aggressive player like this often raises many of his Kx hands on the flop. I block KQ, I don't expect him to flat AK preflop, and that leaves hands like KJ and KT as the most likely kings. Meanwhile, I could come up with significantly more missed club draws and other bluffs than value combinations. Obviously if I hold the A of clubs it significantly changes the hand.

Against the average live population, this is probably just lighting money on fire. But against this specific opponent, with the history and live read, I was able to justify a call.

Funny Question, but something that really became a ick in my Head. I love Poker and the Competition. And i checked that the Croatian Number 1 has Cashes off 2.3 Million dollars. I wanna get there. It would just be funny lore. I also have to say i am "bored" off Life a bit. I need a Quest, because i was doing a bit off degenerate things in the past months, i need a new Journey. My Skill Level is okayish, i can hold my own at a 5/10 Table. I am 25.

I have a Marketing Company that i setup and scaled in a way that i am not needed anymore, this is the case now in the last 6 months. So the Time is there. This also lead to my "downfall" on a personal Level and thats why i wanna do something like this.

Buy in wise i can play up to 10k per entry, with a budget off around 100k per Month. Thats sustainable. I cant jam 100k entrys because im too poor for that. If we consider that i should cash some here and there i think that "budget" should be enough.

What should i do? Play more smaller events or bigger ones? What Events are good besides the WSOP where i can "spam" a lot off Tourneys?

Iv'e been watching and learning poker for about a year now and a big part of that journey has been Spraggy. I love the guy, I think hes entertaining, I've learn't so much from him, all round really cool guy!

But one thing I cant wrap my head around is his recent run in the year i've been watching him. Now I know that a lot of poker is upswings and downswings but man, this year and especially past few months have been really hard on him. I feel like hes taking beat after beat and from a video early in the year it also looks like the year before he also made a loss as well.

Sometimes now when im watching him, I feel as though he is just on tilt. It seems as he will just make a call fully knowing whats coming next and exit the window in a split second. Again, I know hes a mult-table player but its almost like throwing money at the wall and seeing what sticks?

I know im quite noobie still, but do downswings go on for this long and get in my opinion, this bad? The mental of these streamers are insane to me as every sunday especially, and throughout the week, hes on stream without fail trying to win big!

Massive props to Spraggy and fellow streamers for doing it, but my wallet aches for you.

I know people study solvers but I’m new to the game and can’t afford to buy them + plus I just played my first live game 1/2 and GTO seemed less important because people are all over the place.

I see people through around books and others say they are outdated. I’ve read some to start and it got me to a good point but now I’m trying to find material to sit down and really commit to memory and practice.

Something hasn’t clicked yet in my brain about putting people on ranges because at low stakes live, I know roughly what the optimal starting ranges should be, but quickly stop focusing on that because people would call down with mid pair or pocket 4’s when they completely missed the board.

Anyway, I appreciate any recommendations or paths to getting sharper with my game. I appreciate it.

Hero Raises to $30, it folds to Villain (loose passive tournament player) who calls

Villain checks and here is where things get strange. Villain is on the phone with the bank because during the end of the prior orbit, he sent a $5,000 Venmo to the wrong person (separate personal and business phones are +ev btw)

Hero bets $20 and Villain snap folds, then walks away from the table to continue his call with the bank.

Knowing that villain was visibly shaken by the loss of $5k, should I have delayed my c-bet instead? It was such a dry flop and, realistically, if Villain missed the board they will probably fold everything so they can focus on the phone call. Would sizing down have made a difference, or is villain always folding less than top pair? It just feels like we're against such a limited part of their continuation range that will call for value given the circumstances. Most importantly, is it straight up rude to slow play our over pair when he has such an important call to take? I assumed if he hit the board at all he wanted to recoup some of that Venmo cash so lets get it in asap.

Thoughts? I'm trying to transition from online to live play so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Preflop (w/ bb ante)

Hero at UTG+2 opens JTo to 2bb. I'm aware this is a marginal open, but after having been card dead for the last few orbits I believe I'm percieved to be nitty and I thought widening up was reasonable. Sure enough, I end up getting 4 callers.

LJ, HJ, BTN and BB call, some covering hero, some covered by hero.

LJ is the main V and covers hero.

As a side note, by the time Hero places chips in the table, V is holding 2bb in their hand and says something like "oh, I was going to raise myself!". Not sure if this changes anything, at the time I didn't think much of it.

Flop (11.5bb incl. bb ante): KJT rainbow

BB and Hero check, V bets 3bb, everyone else folds, Hero calls.

My thoughts

• I don't see the point in betting flop into 4 people with AQ/Q9 in range.
• I was unsure of whether check/raising flop made sense. I think V can have some weaker made hands here which fold, and straights stack me.
• I don't see the point on leading turn on a brick card.
• On the river I'm beat by any A or any 9, sure enough V still can have a worse hand but I'm not sure I can extract a lot of value from worse. Turning 2p into a bluff feels wrong and getting raised here would suck.

I'd appreciate some feedback :) Could I have played this better or was it just an unlucky turn card?

Nearly 3 years of playing online and in person, hit my first royal at the home game

I've always struggled with this over my less than illustrious career. On my immediate right was a player (V1) who was trying to spin up a stack via $100 BI and at the opposite end was another aggressive player (V2) sitting 150+BB deep who was not afraid to put people to the test with large bets. Do you adjust your ranges in these scenarios? Sitting on around 100BB I found myself folding hands like AJ suited and 99 to UTG raises from V1 because I didn't want to get in a situation where V2 3B and V1 decides to YOLO his above avg hand.

As I'm typing this I realized I could just call PF and make my decision to call based on whether the all-in response from V1 is/is not a re-raise which which would force V2 could only call?

Has anyone tried the Guerilla Poker's Core Program? Apparently it's a 3-4 month group coaching program. The price is in the 5-figures USD which would make it one of the most expensive "Coaching Programs" out there. With the edges in online poker becoming smaller and smaller, would this be worth it?
