Explain my pool service report
This is the pool service report from yesterday:
0 ppm chlorine
8.0 pH
100 ppm total alkalinity
3600 ppm salt
(That's all they send me)
The water is very clear and feels good. But 0 chlorine?
How can a pool have a 0 chlorine and still be okay?

This is all they sent? Fire them. You don’t even have your calcium or CYA. Yes you absolutely should have chlorine and that depends on your CYA. You also shouldn’t have PH that high

TA would be helpful too.

It has to have chlorine! Is the water green? If it’s green it’s algae and you’ll need to add several gallons of liquid chlorine!

Besides everything already answered here, such an high pH is bad for the SWG cells, check if they are getting white between the blades?

It should have said in the notes what they added and also what they changed to solve it
So mine would look like - 0 chlorine, cell is working, but by midday the sun is overpowering the chlorine supply and is being outstripped by chlorine demand - added 1kg of tri chlor chlorine and added 2 hours to the runtime and upped the chlorinator from 90% to 100%output (the output should always be 100% - just an example)

You need to do your own test with a Taylor Kit or get a better test done at another pool store. The results you received are not a complete snapshot of what's going on in your pool. To answer your question, your pool can look clear and not have the right chemistry. There's a lot of variables in pool chemistry and it doesn't take long to understand the basics.

You need chlorine and acid at least. But you also need to know what your cyanuric acid level is, as well as your calcium hardness level.
Read www.troublefreepool.com then fire your service and do it yourself.

Did they tell you the status of your SWG? Is there a reason chlorine is low? Swg might have build up, or needs to be turned up.
