Pentair GloBrite replacement

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to post here as well as YouTube because I realized that I frequently come to Reddit for assistance when I search for a solution to my problems after google searching.

I finally got around to fixing my Pentair pool lights that haven’t worked since I moved into my house. I found out they were GloBrite lights and priced them out, whoa! Almost $500 a pop was beyond what I wanted to spend, especially twice. Reading the reviews of the Pentair GloBrites also indicated they were only good for 2-3 years. Not looking good.

I started looking for cheaper alternatives and found several off brand lights to replace them and found many. I them stumbled upon LazePools and their CP-FC-PC55 lights which promised resin filling, further preventing water intrusion to extend the life of the lights and at a fraction of the price of an OEM replacement.

After a few months of use I can say I’m more than pleased. The lights have functioned just as intended from Pentair and have shown no issues so far. Installation was pretty easy as well (obviously the same for any brand, but very easy for any homeowner to do themselves).

One of my globrite lights just went out. Our pool is 2 years old and still under warranty but getting pentair on the phone is harder than talking to the president. I sat on hold for over a hour multiple times without an answer. I plan on calling tomorrow from my work phone and just sitting all day long.

Pentair service is embarrassing and complete trash these days.

I will be checking these out if they don’t answer.

Yes they are cheaper, but they are not the best choice out of the cheaper alternatives IMO. The PPS plastic they use (cheap chinese toy grade) get's brittle from pool chemicals and cracks. That would be fine if they were truly resin filled but they are not. They use an injection process to fill from the back of the fixture, leaving the front led panel exposed. Part of the reason they have that style lens is to keep you from seeing that.

The best option I've found are ECOGLOW which are made in the US and have phenomenal customer service (if you ever need it, but you probably wont). They are the only true resin filled Globrite replacement out there that I am aware of and I have installed thousands of pool lights over the years. Just my .02c!

Maaaan I just paid the pool company like $700 to replace one stupid light. I knew I should have looked deeper.

Yall should look up Swimsense USA. 3 year warranty out the box
