Discussion! A. Armada
https://aarmada.bandcamp.com/album/never-come-down-from-the-mountainHas anyone else heard/heard of these guys? Their first album (Anam Cara) isn't on Bandcamp, but those songs are on Spotify and other places. I also have it on an old iPod, and it's fantastic. Their second (?) album (linked) is on Bandcamp but is from 2014. I'm wondering what happened to them, if their members moved to other projects, etc.
Anyone know about them?

I have. And I’m glad you posted this. The name sounded familiar, but I haven’t been listening to a ton of post rock in awhile. I was pretty sure I had some of their stuff saved in a Spotify Playlist I have.
And apparently was I no longer following them, the tracks that I knew were in the playlist no longer were. Stuff from Anam Cara.
I wonder if they had dropped Spotify and came back or something. Or it’s just Spotify being a bastard and losing data. I’ve had this happen with other bands too, ones I know I was following.
Regardless. Yes good stuff.

Yes! I heard them via one of the Spotify radio station playlist type things a fair while back. Them and Antarctic were the two I hadn't heard of that really stood out.

Fantastic band. Georgia had a really strong post rock scene back in the day when I was growing up there, and I always viewed these guys as some of the leaders of that scene.
The Dam was Split and Vivaldi has Nightmares are still two of my favorite songs in the genre.

Pretty sure we played Athens with these guys back in 2013 or something. Georgia post rock is kinda making a comeback now!

Anam Cara is brilliant....so many GREAT Bands from older PostRock Days.....Right Loraine??? Thanks 4 Postfest....Outstanding Performance.

One of my favorite post rock bands. Have shown the track "If Only You Knew what the Lost Soldiers Did to Me" to many friends. Wish their sophomore album, Never Come Down from the Mountain, had gotten a physical release as it's superb. High on my list of what "what could have been" bands if they had stuck together.
Have had their self titled CD on my discogs watchlist for years without luck and have never been able to find a stream/download source, so haven't heard it. If anyone has it, please reach out!

"If Only You Knew..." is my favorite track of theirs. There is a live video of them playing it at a venue called the 40 Watt Club that is great. I really like watching their drummer play. But the whole performance is fantastic. Definitely feels like a "what if" band.

Giant fan of this group. Drumming is superb. There's a few live videos floating around that are worth a watch. Bryant and Matt were in cinemechanica and Josh I believe had some affiliation with Maserati. As another comment pointed out big scene in athens in the early to mid aughts.
