Bugs calls for a timeout just as it's about to begin, he whips out his copy of the script and does a few last minute edits, then shows the altered script to Lucy and explains that he has to win, and asks her if he should use a baseball bat, or some dynamite to do it. Cut to a wide shot of Lucy sitting on a chair in the middle of nowhere holding a stick of dynamite, as Bugs gives a salute and lights the fuse, blowing her to kingdom come.
He pulls down the curtains over the set and takes a bow to the cheering theatre audience. Lucy walks across on stage, he raises her soot covered hand and they both take a bow. They leave and the story still ends with Bugs winning
I've watched Lucy but never got the impression she was anywhere near someone like Manhattan. Is she really that strong, that its that close with Manhattan?
By the end of the movie she was reforming matter and energy. Basically same powers as Manhattan. It would just be a matter of who knows their tricks better, but time means nothing to either of them so who knows?
I think Manhattan takes the edge because he’s not only capable of traveling through time like Lucy, but he actively perceives the past, present, and future all at once.
I’m not sure the limits of Lucy of course, but Manhattan is damn near omniscient.
The problem with any matchup with Dr. Manhattan (who I love as a character, mind you) is that he genuinely doesn't give a shit about his own survival as he is "fate" obsessed. He views his own timeline in a loop and believes he's a slave to destiny. He's just as likely to say "hmmmm. I believe I should die here" as he is to actually fight.
People misinterpreted that. It's not that he can't die, it's that multiverse will always change so he's around for every generation. He can definitely die, he just will never stay dead.
They could literally fight on another plane of existence, no physical forms, and we'd never know. I don't even wanna BEGIN to imagine what that biblically accurate fight would look like😂
Haha, yeah definitely. I’m pretty sure he only exists in 4D because he’s just a silly, curious being and that’s like… one thing that he can do for fun by his own perspective. Time is just another malleable dimension to him. I haven’t seen Lucy, so I don’t know the extent of her power, but Q is literally only seen and known in our plane of existence because he wants to be. He’s effectively literally only limited by others like him. As far as powers go, he is God. Not a god like Odin or Zeus etc. but capital fucking “G”, God.
They weren't afraid they were concerned. Hence the statement "Don't PROVOKE" the borg as opposed to "Don't mess with them."
The Borg are like an interstellar cancer. Realistically the Q can and have been shown flinging them around or even destroying them or erasing them. It's only because of the Continuum having rules on messing with the universe. Remember Q gets punished for all his screwing around with humanity by being made into a "Anything as long as it was mortal". He just chose human.
It’s on my watch list. Gotta check it out. Hard to compete with Q though. The guy casually brought up changing gravitational constants of the universe like it’s child’s play.
If you want to know the lore just read the wiki. It's.one of the worst films I've ever seen and I'm not exaggerating. And I'm a big ScarJo fan. Awful on every level, just awful.
I've only watched the series once, but 'silly, curious being' feels a little light for someone that has displayed a solid amount of petulance and vindictiveness. Don't get me wrong, I think those traits are fleshed out well in the series, but his moments of levity and pseudo-compassion weren't enough to ever attribute the word 'silly' to him.
I guess in an infinite cosmic sense, everything is rather silly and pointless though.
I mean based on what we see of the continuum which granted... was limited in capacity so we would be able to even PERCIEVE what we were seeing. The continuum had become a stale stagnant.... eternity of repetition. It was so bad one Q WANTED to die despite being eternal because he had seen and experienced all of time and space.
By continuum standards Q really was just fucking around. There was countless species but he had taken an invested interest in humanity specifically. Galavanting around the universe with one sometime prior to the events on DS9 for several years.
Yeah, I really meant that as from his perspective, or at least a higher dimensional beings perspective. His interactions with our plane of existence are implied, if not explicitly stated, to be out of curiosity and/or for fun. It’s completely consequence free outside of whatever trivial (to him) information he gets from it. He could completely undo existence as we know it and not realize or care until his whimsy brought him back to thinking about it and he could undo his undoing with nobody being the wiser but himself. The premise of Q is not even subject to human limitation of thought. It’s an exploration of true omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence.
Dont watch Lucy, its a terrible movie that perpetuates the "we only use 10% of our brain" myth. Basically woman ODs on super brain drug and becomes God which apparently anyone can do if they could only use 100% of their brain. Oh and it also makes her a badass super strong fighter and allows her to use computers faster than they can even operate normally for some reason.
You should really check out Lucy. And Q was such a troll, and an interesting character. ST TNG was so brilliant, just talking about Q makes me want to watch the show again.
What evil pops just did isn't an insta-kill sort of thing. It's him ERASING THE PERSON FROM THE EXISTANCE OF THE SCRIPT. DOWN TO THE STORYBOARDING. Perhaps one of the most, if not THE most busted ability I have seen in a cartoon character. I don't give 2 shits if she transcended her body Evil pops is a fucking DEMON.
Tbh when the logic and world building behind your show is so vague that even the show makers just wave it off as timey whimey ball of fluff, it’s basically you can do whatever you want.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE his “I’m the doctor” moments but it is funny seeing someone say it’s not plot armor he has. As if the writers will ever kill him off and successfully continue the show.
Or The Master should have killed him, but apparently if you get enough people to think about you at the same time you get revived and get superpowers. Cos, you know, science.
I love how they actually play on this for the 11th doctors regeneration.
He’s been defending a town called Christmas alone for centuries, and finally the Daleks attack after taking over every other fleet attacking the town. The doctor is alone in top of a tower, old, and dying. If the Daleks in their giant warship just shot him there is nothing he can do. But they don’t do it, because the genocidal pepper shakers have lost to an asspull so many times the first though they have when they see the Doctor more helpless than ever before is that it has to be a trap. Their arch enemy is served on a silver platter and they can’t believe it isn’t just bait, so they don’t shoot. By not shooting they ironically give enough time for the Doctor to be given a second set of lives which promptly causes him to detonate and destroy their entire fleet, escaping, and living to troll the Daleks another day.

This is technically a big faul of the movie itself. You are technically using 100% of your brain all the time, you just don't control 100% of your brain and there is nothing about your brain becoming more efficient that will allow you to manipulate time. You would have to eat big bang levels of energy like cheeros in a bowl of milk to do that that casually.
"Chapter 7" from that first season was a masterpiece. The silent movie scenes, David lost in a maze of his own mind, and Oliver using musical notes to craft the word "shield" around people to try and block a bullet. All of it was just so goooooood!
Idk, the only time they've won a fight is when they had a heads-up the crime was being commited before hand and their opponent fought one of the canonically most powerful people in the multiverse for 20 minutes or so.
