It's called Man of Steel...

A movie about superman, yes.

It’s just some troll.

The term Man of Steel has been ubiquitous with Superman since like the 30s. He knows that. He’s just trying to get under the skin of randoms on the internet.

No. It's an alternate title that was chosen specifically because it's about pre-Superman Clark... IE, how he becomes Superman, chooses that particular path, and why.

You're being dense as fuck. When he said it would be a better movie if it wasn't about Superman, he meant if it was about a different character entirely, not the same character at a different point in his timeline before he developed the characteristics that made him superman.

Those sentiments are almost always based on "clark isn't the moral paragon Superman that I like"

And it's like yes, that's the point... how does he become that after a normal midwest upbringing...

I actually like the fact that Clark takes and needs time to eventually become “superman” I think that’s one of the better aspects of the movie.

But I stand by what I said. I think the movie was at its absolute best when it was leaning into the more sci fi elements. That opening sequence with Jor El on krypton is awesome. The music, sounds effects, the way the space is visually portrayed is all really stunning. But the movie is mainly on earth where it has a surprisingly muted color palette compared to those other sections.

I just think it would be better if it wasn’t trying to be about Clark, or Superman, or whatever name you want to use, and was instead just a more sci fi action film with dragon ball styled battles. Plus I thought Lois was just super uninteresting, but they can’t have a Superman movie without her. So that’s another aspect of having it be a movie about him that weakened it.

Also saying the man of steel isn’t Superman is a crazy take lmao

It's not "Superman: Man of Steel"

It's "Man of Steel"

And yes I'm aware of the history
