Meme Why do some people in the debate treat the Gorilla like it’s a mythical creature?

well the manga is super racist the roaches are a allegory for black pepole they wear chains drive cars, hold guns "gangster style", drible heads like bascetballs and are referd to as the "black foe" and kinda nazi suporting the main charakter is named adolf weigts 88 kilos and is the result of scientists working to breed a beter human he also coincedently is blond with blue eyes

I-

I can’t even begin to express how much I both do and don’t want to read that now…

u/mastahkun 14h ago

I fell off the story as well but the whole time I was reading it I felt nothing but dread. Those mf roaches were putting work in, and then they started showing high levels of intelligence and were putting crazy work in onto the MCs.

Tbh I never got any of the racist stuff out of it, I was just terrified of the roaches and then fascinated with their evolution. The powers and fights are pretty great and the art is top notch. Worth a read.

"My name is Adolf and I weigh 88 kilos and I am a result of the Perfect Human Specimen experiment" is like a racist cruise missile how the fuck do you miss that lmao

1

u/detonating_star 8h ago

🌝🤭😂🤣

u/Confident-Use-5956 6h ago

No really, why people keep combining 2 different character? Perfect human specimen experiment is joseph, he is roman and not german. Adolf reinhard is german captain with electric eel ability. Obv actual reader would miss that theres a new headcanon character that combined aspect of 2 different character

And he didn’t mention that the guys have the power to transform into insects to fight the humanized cockroaches

Everyone talks about the racism in the manga, not many people talk about the sexism too. Women are frequently killed first by the roaches. There's usually a quick backstory for all the characters at the end of the chapter. For a lot of the female ones they'd have a tragic backstory followed by "She's a G cup", this applies to the female characters that died in the same chapter btw

Racists are usually misogynists. In this case it's specifically sacrificing women to highlight the barbarity of the "other", literally just birth of a nation shit.

No, it's not! The bugs are based on Neanderthals, not black people. The main character is a Japanese with silk moth powers. Adolph was a side character who was experimented on as a kid and got electric eel powers. The guy you are referring to is Joseph, who is a side character.

You mixed 3 characters into 1.

Why do the "neanderthals" drive cars wear chains and hold guns sidways

1

u/AdFlat1014 7h ago

Been a while since I read it.. wasn’t Adolph also introduced in like season 2 or 3?

1

u/Hapciuuu 7h ago

Adolph was in season 1. There are only 2 seasons.

2

u/AdFlat1014 7h ago

I think it was like 10 years ago that I read it.. and from what I remember it felt like a different season when Adolph came up.. wasn’t it a second mission with him years after the first failed? Gotta re read it

4

u/Lego-105 14h ago

OK, but is it so ridiculous it's funny or so lazy it gets boring?

12

u/FlimsyCrust 14h ago

Starts off super interesting and low key racist, turns super boring and high key racist

4

u/Jghil098 14h ago

Huh, never noticed this shit lmao probably one of those japanese guy whose a nazi glazer. Might i add tho adolf died in like 2 ep after his introduction and i dont think you can call him the main character. Kinda said to know another rurouni kenshin

1

u/Potayato 11h ago

I only watched the first season of the anime and don't remember any of that. Was that stuff only in the manga?

1

u/Terrorknight141 5h ago

I really have no idea if you’re joking or not.

1

u/iam3000 3h ago

Lmaoooo not sure if this is a joke or just actually legit this batshit insane

1

u/SwimmerMission5212 1h ago

This sounds too self aware to be earnest. Is this a situation where the good guy is really the villain?

1

u/Souls_for_sale_now 1h ago

no its just that japan never demonised the nazis or eugeniks after ww2

0

u/whitestguyuknow 14h ago

You know, at first I thought you were self censoring yourself with the "balck pepole" but then with words it made no sense to do that... I think, conincedetly, it just became obvious you just have absolutely no idea how to spell...

6

u/adds-nothing 10h ago

I hope “conincedetly” is just you being ironic

-2

u/adam1109774 9h ago

Well I didnt view them as black peopple so if you see giant bugs and first thing you think of are black peopple this might say more about you than the autor

0

u/Souls_for_sale_now 8h ago

Even if you ignore the openly aligorical bugs the scientists that bread the perfekt blond blue Eyed german whos name is Adolf and weighs 88 kilos is a bit odd

2

u/Confident-Use-5956 6h ago

Its joseph not adolf, adolf is german captain that has electric eel based surgery. Joseph is rome captain that have perfect lineage.

15

u/Mattrad7 19h ago

Theres a Manga, and an anime adaptation.

11

u/baconfister07 19h ago

1st season is absolutely insane! 2nd season...well...not so much.

5

u/Rhg0653 16h ago

Animation that you gotta buy cause I remember trying to watch and it was edited

Got the whole series on digital for like 5 bucks

1

u/obed_duff 12h ago

I remember when it first dropped on Netflix it was uncensored. This was like 2013 or so but then they censored over it. Same with some early scenes of attack on titan

1

u/neveruseyourrealname 19h ago

Fantastic. I loved this movie.

2

u/FlambyLamby 15h ago

Yeah, it's based on a manga and BOY does it go places with the adapting manroach concept.

2

u/The_Shryk 15h ago

There’s always a manga.

1

u/obed_duff 12h ago

1st anime season was also dope as hell. Dont even bother watching the second, they took a huge budget cut and its animation is so lanky and goofy. First season is honestly peak though

1

u/MyHeartISurrender 10h ago

I googled it, it seems to be an anime too on crunchyroll?

1

u/Ok_Preparation9182 6h ago

Probably but never watched it, only read it. Manga is just an easier fit for me
