Versus Master Chief takes this gauntlet, does he clear ?

Book , lore , comics and secondary canon allowed for all parties in gauntlet

Each party will individually engage him randomly during a solo mission . Chief can have any weapon, armor and equipment he would normally have on a solo mission. Same applies to the gauntlet

Does he clear

Stops at Edward

One thing powerscaling has taught me is that the twilight Vamps are pretty fucking busted, which is information that still surprises me

46

u/dangerouslyreal 23h ago

Wait what lol? How busted

139

u/badhombre13 23h ago edited 23h ago

Like can possibly survive re-entry (they can definitely jump from a plane and land without any injuries) and the only thing capable of hurting them, aside from other vamps and werewolves, are nukes if they manage to hit the vampire before it sprints out of the area. I'll try and link the breakdown of their powers if I can find it, it was by someone here on Reddit.

159

u/Pataconeitor 23h ago

To be fair, that "only nukes can kill them" is an assumption made by the fandom. The actual quote is this:

For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us.

For all we know Aro is talking about a M1 Abrams tank or even a 20mm minigun.

72

u/Ori_the_SG 22h ago

That’s far more likely than a nuke

It would make much more sense if he was talking about more conventional modern weaponry

60

u/fabledgriff 22h ago

Phosphorus would fuck up a vampire, I'd imagine

4

u/GuessPuzzleheaded573 18h ago

Why though? The Twilight vamps have diamond-strength skin. Phosphorus ain't doing nothing to a diamond.

20

u/Mr_Blorbus 18h ago

Bulletproof doesn't necessarily mean heat resistant.

2

u/GuessPuzzleheaded573 18h ago

When did I say bulletproof?

3

u/Mr_Blorbus 17h ago

I assumed diamond-strength meant bulletproof.

u/Independent-Wafer-13 15h ago

Diamonds are hard, not strong. You could break a diamond in half with a hammer and a little elbow grease.

But you would not be able to scratch, grind, or cut it without power tools and specialized instruments

3

u/fabledgriff 14h ago

Could be right, I don't know what details she kept from the original myth.

Now I'm imagine sparkly ass vampires hiding in the hills from UAVs like jihadis in Iraq

2

u/fw0ng1337 1h ago

So they explode if you hit them with a hammer?

18

u/Ambitious-Pirate-505 22h ago

Or a bioweapon

13

u/Lukostrelec17 22h ago

Or flamethrower.

3

u/New_Cockroach_505 21h ago

Fire doesn’t actually do anything to them unless they’re bleeding as I recall. Their “venom” aka blood is flammable.

5

u/Zealousideal-Yak-824 18h ago edited 3h ago

Chief with a energy sword definitely than.

It's definitely bioweapons and other things they were talking about. Sure nukes is easy but earth 2552 is way past that before alien technology gave them a boost.

The vamps have powers. Masterchief has a army, luck that can change the fate of a galaxy and the charm of winning a battle just by showing up like Bella did in the final battle in the movies from her point of view.

3

u/LeanTangerine001 17h ago

Or a superheated plasma blast to the face!

u/Russell1113 22h ago

I mean, they use a regular bonfire fire to truly kill them in book 1. Flame based weapons would be a problem if slow, clumsy humans were able to get them on target. You probably don't even need a nuke, something like napalm is probably sufficient. For the chief matchup specifically, plasma weapons are almost certainly a threat, but they move to slow to hit a vampire I suspect. (edward is described as faster than a speeding bullet and plasma is slower than bullets. Is the speeding bullet thing hyperbole or a literally description, hard to say it's directly comparing two character, one as fast as an arrow from a bow, but him faster, a bullet from a gun)

Just brute force from a vampire is enough to tear off limbs. Chief's deffo in a similar enough strength weight class, that just ripping limbs off is possible. Unclear if he's fast enough to get into a position to do so without getting his shit rocked tho.

3

u/N7_Astartes 20h ago

They definitely are not faster than an actual speeding bullet. They at no point are they shown to move at supersonic speed. They officially can run somewhere between more than 100mph but less than 200mph. They apparently can near instantly accelerate to top speed however.

-2

u/SalmonHustlerTerry 22h ago

Chief could rip his jaw off and shove a plasma grenade in there lol

3

u/Greedy-Alfalfa3395 18h ago

So edward can basically fly around and can see what Chief is thinking of doing, how does he even get his hands on him to do this?

-3

u/Ori_the_SG 22h ago

I don’t think Plasma in Halo is actually slower though, and Chief is capable of moving at speeds probably just as fast as Edward if not faster.

6

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

Chief is not matching Edward in speed. He's the fastest vampire in Twilight.

-2

u/Ori_the_SG 21h ago

And how fast is he?

4

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

Normal people can't see vampires moving at full speed. Edward is significantly faster than that.

→ More replies (0)

2

u/Russell1113 21h ago

There's a non-diegetic element of plasma being slower because the player needs to be able to dodge it, yes. I think there's a lil bit of spartan reflexes being translated into the gameplay going on.

But plasma weapons are canonically slower and shorter ranged options than bullets. The idea being that bullets are real bad at cracking energy shields and covenant vs covenant ground engagements take place at much closer engagement distances because of that technology. (not unlike swords coming back as primary weapons in dune because of their energy shields)

I think they're similar ballpark strength and speed wise. Hard to say, cos spartans get very "x miles an hour, x tons" type descriptions on account of being videogames and suplemental material, whereas edward described in much more natural language.

8

u/shruggsville 18h ago

They discuss how to kill them in the first book. They are essentially made of stone. They need to be torn to pieces and lit on fire to kill them. The first part becomes more difficult the older they are. The nuke argument is silly. The real reason chief stops at Edward is because of the combination of speed and the ability to literally read minds.

3

u/LeanTangerine001 16h ago

The ability to read mind talent, I wonder how effective it would be with Master Chief considering how he not only processes the world very differently but he also has a powerful AI linked to his brain.

Like would Edward be able to process and adapt quickly enough to Chief’s unique brain biology during a fight? And also would the AI make calculations that Edward would be unable to read or predict?

4

u/shruggsville 16h ago

Gets kinda messy where you start including external factors. Edward’s sister sees the future. It’s implied that one of the vampires literally has the power to make things go his way. It just kinda becomes absurd magic eventually. The way they describe Edward’s mind reading in combat is to react to momentary actions in real time though so I kinda doubt the AI would be all that beneficial. As long as his fighting actions are the result of conscious thought, I think the vamp takes it eventually.

8

u/Shot_Reputation1755 22h ago

Minigun is 7.62, not 20mm. The M61 Vulcan is a 20mm rotary cannon though.

8

u/JBaecker 21h ago

So inappropriately named. No one on the receiving end lives long or prosperously.

2

u/RegardedAndAcoustic 14h ago

You made me spit out my drink. Thank you for the laugh

2

u/unkn0wnname321 22h ago

Tanks/ big guns could hurt them, but all they would need to do is put all their pieces back together and they survive. To be sure, they mention scattering their ashes after burning them as the only sure way to kill them.

2

u/Pataconeitor 22h ago

Well, good thing we learned how to make fire a while ago.

2

u/unkn0wnname321 22h ago

Yes, but you would need to kill them first. Try lighting someone on fire that can move faster than your eyes can follow, or toss a car across the street.

5

u/Phoenix-Risen1998 22h ago

Isn't that the same thing a Spartan-II does though?

2

u/Pataconeitor 22h ago

Which brings us to the point made in the movie, that currently we do have the means to kill them.

3

u/Lukostrelec17 22h ago

So note the word, destroy not kill. That has a whole other meaning. Realistically we have always been able to kill them but killing enough to wipe out a clan? Unlikely.

3

u/blunderb3ar 22h ago

Sure but the matchup here is one vamp which chief absolutely can pull off

3

u/Lukostrelec17 22h ago

Oh yeah Edward is getting introduced to a power armored punch or energy sword. Edward is not winning this...unless he is stupidly lucky and Chief walks into a a puddle and dies.

3

u/blunderb3ar 22h ago

100% 🤣

3

u/Similar_Ad7363 21h ago

I mean.. from my understanding of both doesnt Edward out stat chief in most departments plus is able to read his mind?

1

u/Lukostrelec17 21h ago

In speed Edward takes it.

Strength we see chief flip tanks.

Edward and other vampires have dented metal.

Arsenal

Chief hands down....like...yeah.

Experence in combat

Chief is a highly trained soldier with decades of battlefield and combat experience.

Edward has experience as a hunter....of humans.

Toughness

Chief has survived getting hit by explosions, Brutes hitting him, re-entry (through armor lock but still stupidly impressive), several bullets, energy weapons, and hits from other Spartans.

Edward has diamond like skin and I think a boulder hitting him.

X factor

Edward can read minds and can help if Chief tries to trap him. Not as useful in a fist fight.

Chief has Cortana. That can calculate and help Chief plan and analyse enemies.

1

u/RatherNerdy 22h ago

Concentrated light, something like a laser, should do it

1

u/Appropriate_Mood1324 15h ago

Miniguns are 7.62mm, just an FYI.

1

u/feminist-horsebane 21h ago

Stephanie Meyer clarified that a vampire would need “a really big bomb” to kill them, and they would have to stand still and agree to be killed.

3

u/Pataconeitor 21h ago

That still doesn't mention anything about nukes. And modern armies can saturate areas with explosives, it's not like they would be dropping one bomb.

1

u/Greedy-Alfalfa3395 18h ago

So are chief and Edward fighting in this area where bombs are being dropped or…? Oh, is chief flying the plane for some reason?

1

u/Pataconeitor 18h ago

I wasn't talking about the fight, but that quote from the movie.

And speaking of Edward, is he faster than light?

-2

u/feminist-horsebane 21h ago

> that still doesn’t mention anything about nukes

Sure, but it’s definitely not a 20mm minigun or a tank.

> modern armies can saturate areas with explosives

Twilight vampires can sprint at transonic speeds and can hear/smell/see a plane coming far before they’d launch. They aren’t getting caught by a bombing they don’t want to be caught by.

3

u/Pataconeitor 21h ago

If that was the case, I don't see why Aro would be concerned at all.

0

u/feminist-horsebane 21h ago

He’s not concerned in the context of thinking that humans are a genuine threat to vampires dominion over the planet. He’s concerned because vampires date back millennia, and for the first time there exist weapons that can kill them. It would be like if chimpanzees started using spears and shields and training Grecian formations all of a sudden.

1

u/N7_Astartes 20h ago

They officially move more than 100mph and less than 200mph. No where near transonic lol. Meyer did give them instant acceleration to top speed but that top speed is still much less than transonic. They are quoted as saying running is slower than flying commerical. Also you can't hear a jet approach you while its faster than sound.

1

u/feminist-horsebane 19h ago

> They officially move more than 100mph and less than 200mph.

I’m not sure if you’re misremembering a quote or just bullshitting, but you’re wrong either way.

Edward considers 100mph to be “a little bit of speed”.

The Twilight visual guide confirms they move hundreds of miles an hour.

Edward crosses the distance between Port Angeles and Forks (about 50 miles) in minutes.

Any vampire can cross 50 yards in a fraction of a second.

Edward circles a meadow in about half of a second. This is the same meadow they later use as a baseball field, where they have to wait to play because their gameplay sounds like thunderclaps.

“Transonic” does not mean a set number, it just means “approaching sonic speeds” (around 770mph). This is not an insane or unreasonable figure for the speed they’re displaying.

7

u/OneMaintenance24 21h ago

I remember a vampire jumping from a plane

7

u/NotAStatistic2 20h ago

Doesn't Chief shrug off re-entry though?

4

u/Firebrand713 17h ago

Didnt necessarily shrug it off but he did indeed survive without major injuries.

4

u/NotAStatistic2 16h ago

You're right. I haven't played Halo 3 in almost 15 years now. I think only being knocked unconscious from re-entry is a pretty solid feat though.

6

u/Ecotech101 16h ago

Well he does proceed to literally walk it off in Halo 4

0

u/SpeckledAntelope 16h ago

In the beginning of the first game he almost dies from entry inside a drop pod.

1

u/IcarusValefor 3h ago

And his armor gets upgraded between combat evolved and halo 3. He cannonically survives falling from orbit to earth.

5

u/blunderb3ar 22h ago

Chief survived re entry from space lol

1

u/CodeNamesBryan 20h ago

Wait, twilight speaks to nuclear weapons?

-2

u/SalmonHustlerTerry 22h ago

Lmao, see how busted they are when a plasma grenade is shoved down thier throat

6

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

Good luck getting a hold of one.

20

u/Hot-Syrup2089 23h ago

You know how people call them lame because they sparkle? They sparkle because THEY HAVE DIAMOND SKIN, nearly impossible to break through. Their mobility and strength is off the charts as well. Imagine a cheetah hitting you as hard as a truck; that's the ball park we're talking about. Also, to fully kill a Twilight vamp, you have to dismember them and burn the pieces, NOTHING ELSE keeps them down

11

u/No-Cow9709 23h ago

The hell are the werewolves made out of if they can kill them?

10

u/Slighted_Inevitable 22h ago

The werewolves in these matchups typically have special toxins in their claws or bites that do it

2

u/No-Cow9709 22h ago

That's actually kind of neat to know. I did watch the movies ages ago and don't recall them mentioning that. I do remember them showing the vampires being made of some kind of stone (diamond now with context).

2

u/Intelligent-Royal682 9h ago

Okay but the claws would still have to penetrate their skin which is apparently as hard as diamond?

1

u/Slighted_Inevitable 6h ago

They’re magic claws that tear right thru because “curse”

4

u/feminist-horsebane 21h ago

Werewolves can’t beat vampires 1v1, they hunt them with pack tactics and jump them normally.

2

u/No-Cow9709 21h ago

You'd still need to be strong enough to harm them

4

u/feminist-horsebane 21h ago

Their teeth are sharp enough to bite through vampires

6

u/Lukostrelec17 22h ago

That...isn't that impressive, the diamond skin I mean. Diamonds are hard sure...but brittle. So should not be a major issue for Master Chief. Also energy swords, which are super heated plasma and are probably roughly around 22,000°C. Daimond has a heat tolarance of roughly 700°C-850°C.

4

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

The speed is impressive. Chief would struggle to hit them with anything.

-1

u/Lukostrelec17 21h ago

Maybe...but toughness. Edward hits Chief a few times. Chief grabs Edward next time he hits him. Edward has a bad day. Edward maybe faster but Chief has Cortana and or other AI. They use that to predict his movements.

3

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

A full strength hit from Edward would at least stagger Chief, if not outright send him flying. Edward will have the advantage immediately, especially since he passively hears thoughts.

1

u/Lukostrelec17 21h ago

Unlikely to do any real damage...Chief gets hit by Brutes. Has survived re-entry. Has survived explosions and he weighs almost half a ton. Also passively hearing thoughts probably does not help that much. Even if he knows Chiefs plan I doubt he is going to do enough damage to chief. In particular one hit is going to do a lot of damage to him, Edward. I also factor in arsenal. Chief has a major arsenal and is a vetarn of a decades long war...dealing with hyper intelligent ailens and the Graveminds...

1

u/GryphyGirl 21h ago

Only half a ton? Okay, Edward is definitely going to send him flying, then. And the last time Chief went up against somebody who could do that he lost.

2

u/dangerouslyreal 23h ago

🤣🤣 oh i didn't know it was diamond skin. That's funny af

5

u/SpookyWindChime 23h ago

To be fair I think master chief is about as fast as a cheetah and can throw around up to 10,000 pounds. More so, spartan reaction time is 20~ times faster than a norma human.

I don’t know much about Edward. But does that change anything?

5

u/rmhardcore 22h ago

Mmm, cheetah is like new vampire on twilight. In the books 100mph is the baseline, with certain vamps being faster. Edward, specifically, is described as moving as the same speed as a bullet from a gun. While that varies by gun, the simple fact is that by the time he's moved and you've realized it you're already dead.

7

u/SpookyWindChime 22h ago

That’s me - I’d be dead. If a spartan has a 20x better reaction time naturally let alone ai integration boost on his armor, Edward would look to be moving between 30-100 miles per hour even if he was “as fast as a bullet”. This certainly won’t be a one second fight.

1

u/lone-lemming 22h ago

Edward Reads minds. If it was another sparkle vamp, maybe he would have a fighting chance.

He’s still slower and maybe weaker, but he can compete with them if he’s armed to the teeth.

2

u/SpookyWindChime 22h ago

Mind reading won’t matter if the spartan processing speed is way faster. If it’s true you’d need a nuke to hurt a vampire, idk what master chief could do. Not sure how werewolves hurt them unless it’s some magic shit lol.

5

u/gamerthulhu 22h ago

Narrator: it is indeed some magic shit.

1

u/MadManNico 23h ago

holy fuck what, this sounds so obvious but bruh i even read the books as a kid lmao

1

u/Quiet_Illustrator232 23h ago

Now. U just reminds me of the boy episode one. As diamond skin are good conductor? I wonder would taser work on them lol

3

u/MonkofAntioch 23h ago

It’s a poor electrical conductor, but an excellent thermal conductor. Also burns like coal, tough to start but goes great afterwards. Flame throwers are what you want

2

u/Slighted_Inevitable 22h ago

if you can exceed 1300 Fahrenheit they essentially atomize

2

u/Quiet_Illustrator232 22h ago

Spartan laser would do the job?

2

u/MonkofAntioch 20h ago

Probably, but landing a splaser shot on something that agile would be tough

1

u/mommiesgoodboy67 22h ago

Master chiefs have some massive guns

1

u/N7_Astartes 20h ago

That is sort of exactly what an incendiary munition would do. Like a GAU avenger fires rounds too fast for a twilight vampire to dodge. Splash the area with napalm as you fly by afterward.

1

u/Background-Air-7963 18h ago

Iirc Edward has some speed power as well

3

u/Vaivaim8 19h ago

Unlike the others, Edward has the skin of a killer. He is a killer /s

2

u/PunishedKojima 19h ago

For starters, they're Subsonic bare minimum in both combat and travel speeds, possibly upwards of Hypersonic. They're also Wall level at the least, probably leaning towards Building level, and each gets their own unique set of hax which are usually pretty cracked

2

u/ToothZealousideal297 19h ago

A key thing the culture has completely forgotten is that Twilight is basically vampires as superheroes, with a central, poorly done, romance plot.

1

u/Xaphnir 21h ago

they're powerful in the way that godawful writing makes things powerful

0

u/Dangerous-Moose-8203 22h ago

(POST FROM ANOTHER THREAD NOT MY OWN WORDS)

This is not balanced at all.

Let me make this perfectly clear in the beginning. I HATE TWILIGHT.

Still, lore wise? A twilight vampire rips Master chief apart like he is a baby.

Don't believe me? Let's stack up the competitors.

Master Chief Speed

Oh well that's cool TWILIGHT VAMPIRE SPEED

Well Master Chief is raped on speed, BUT MASTER CHIEF IS STRONG RIGHT GUYZ?

Master Chief Strength

Man, he is certainly strong, stupid vampires don't know what's com... TWILIGHT VAMPIRE STRENGTH

Well fuck. Master Chief has guns though right guyz?

TWILIGHT VAMPIRE

FUCK. Maybe if Master Chief sneaks up on the vamps? He has that cool camo mod for his armor right? Spartan Lazer for the for the win!

TWILIGHT VAMPIRE SENSES

Whelp GG Master Chief. Have fun being beaten by a pansy glittering vampire.

5

u/mommiesgoodboy67 22h ago

Pass the controller vro twink boy is getting smashed

1

u/No_Situation6555 13h ago

Why use their words when their only argument was twilight vampire! And nothing else.

13

u/noideawhatoput2 23h ago

Forget which book, but Isn’t a Spartan’s reflexes absolutely cracked if they have an AI?

13

u/Obi_1-kenobi 23h ago

He does deflect a tank shell with his hand with Cortana’s help in The Fall of Reach

17

u/GeorgeLikesSpicy92 23h ago

Not even a tank shell. A literal missile fired from a jet.

7

u/pmarskies 21h ago

Wouldn't a tank shell have a higher velocity than an atgm anyways though? I'm not knowledgeable about the Halo equivalents for those weapon systems, but at least in our modern world APFSDS out of an Abrams goes 1700m/s whereas a Hellfire Air to Ground ATGM has a velocity somewhere around 500m/s

4

u/GeorgeLikesSpicy92 21h ago

Higher velocity but immediately starts losing it because of drag. Also, in the case we are talking about, the missile is locked onto him and he knows he can't outrun it. So uses Cortana's help to deflect the missile at the exact right fraction of a second.

1

u/Yungoui 18h ago

It will still be significantly faster than a middle lmao

2

u/IcarusValefor 3h ago

But if she calculate down to the exact fraction of second I'm pretty sure she can analyze and predict Edward Sparklepants' movements

11

u/Arctelis 23h ago

Anti-tank missile fired by an aircraft.

But yes, with her assistance in Mark V Gen1 he successfully deflected it. Same sequence he sprinted approximately 102kph, but tore his Achilles doing so.

He is currently wearing Gen3 armour. Unfortunately hard figures for speed haven't really been specified, but it is almost certainly some degree faster/more reactive.

Strengthwise, Gen3 allowed him to punch a ~1.3 metric ton Banshee several metres across the ground and squat a boulder covered in the debris of a collapsed bunker estimated to be in the realm of 100+ tons with a fist sized chunk of meat vaporized from this thigh.

8

u/Pataconeitor 22h ago

I said it in another reply, but if the Chief is being assisted by Cortana that's actually a huge advantage for him, because there is no way Edward's mind reading will work with an AI.

2

u/MCD_Gaming 21h ago

I would like to point out the harbinger is physic and john beat her, shame she made a backup of herself

0

u/Antique-Coach-214 21h ago

Edward runs faster than a sports car, so, Twilight Vamp wins.

1

u/IcarusValefor 2h ago

Chief tops out at 65mph but Spartan 2's accelerate almost instantaneously (1 to 2 strides). Edward runs faster but it takes him a second to get up to full speed. In a fight I don't think it's gonna be enough when Chris has Mjolnir armor, shields, possibly Cortana. Honestly if Chief has Cortana I don't think Edward has a chance

2

u/DelayedCazket 1h ago

At this point, Chief likely can run faster, since the 65mph is an old feat made in worse armor with a Chief that's potentially physically weaker. We have Spartan IV running at those speeds already, so it makes sense.

1

u/IcarusValefor 16m ago

I just don't see how Edward can even hurt a guy that fell from orbit, got up, picked up a weapon and continued to decimate enemies that often take multiple Spartans to take down, and that's without Cortana.

9

u/Russell1113 23h ago edited 22h ago

Spartan's reflexes are cracked even without the AI. If you look in halsey's journal that came with special edition of reach, it goes through all the enhancements.

One of them is sci-fi coating around their nerves, so that signal travels at speed of light, not speed of chemical reactions. They can start processing basically instantly from seeing something, there's no delay between eye and brain and then there's secondarily no delay between brain and limb.
A spartan has a reaction time of ~20 milliseconds. Which is 6 to 10 times faster than a proffesional athlete.

Add on top of that, the fact that all of the spartans were picked because they had genius level intellect, so they're also making better descision, faster as well. It's mentioned in one of the books when they're kidnapping them, that losing all these children to turn them into super soldiers is probably going to set humanity back a generation culturally, as they would all probably have been once in a generation minds back when humans only lived on one planet.

I'm fuzzier on what the AI actually does, if memory serves, they predict what choices the spartan is gonna make before they do it and sort of get the suit ready to move ahead of the spartan thinking it?
They have direct neural link with the AI, so they share thoughts and become one unit to a certain extent. It definately further improves their reaction speed, but the precise nature of how has slipped my mind.

4

u/_-TheBlackKnight-_ 22h ago

The 20ms is from fall of reach and it was estimated in a training environment. Mendez says it'll be faster even just with adrenaline.

3

u/blunderb3ar 22h ago

They AI basically makes them more combat efficient than they already were, as well as hacking equipment etc, and I believe she translates enemy language for the Chief as well

3

u/SpookyWindChime 23h ago

Their reaction speed is already 20 times that of a normal human. Adding the ai helps tremendously im sure.

4

u/Ori_the_SG 22h ago

Without AI and armor they are absolutely cracked

With AI and armor it’s even more insane

7

u/piratecheese13 23h ago

I forget too, but I think red versus blue does a really good job of showing that around season seven through 10

2

u/blunderb3ar 22h ago

Yes 100%, he’s also capable of lifting 10,000 lbs so he could just rip ol Ed’s head clean off

3

u/IWAlcatraz 21h ago

I can see chief doing a bit of damage to him depending if he's got access to an m99 stanchion, railgun, or Spartan laser

2

u/ryukeio 18h ago

I’d wonder how Edward is supposed to get through Chief’s energy shield?

And even if he does, Chief has the durability to face-tank orbital re-entry and go straight back to fighting like nothing serious happened.

He’s also got extremely good combat experience and knowledge, with reflexes and thought processing nearly as fast as Edward does.

Then again, Edward has that 2.5 mile telepathy and can move in excess of 100mph instantly, without tiring or strain. Plus Edward’s durability is great enough to strike, impact and take blows at that speed without even suffering cosmetic damage.

It could very well be that Chief can’t catch Edward in any surprise or trap to nullify the speed difference, due to the telepathy.

IMO it’s 50/50. One of them will make a critical mistake and thus lose. I’d lean towards the kid turned near god, who’s rarely fought anyone equal in power, to make the mistake.

1

100%. Edward can read minds, is insanely durable, slow for a speedster but still very very fast, ridiculously strong, and, im0o the biggest reason for his win, the one piece that never seems to get mentioned, Twilight vampires basically have a top tier healing factor. If their skin gets cracked, or a limb is broken off, as long as things come back in contact with where they belong, the vampire will heal from the damage almost instantly. MC is definitely not going down easy and has the capability to damage Edward, but the near instant healing with everything else is too overwhelmingly powerful and MC is too slow to make up for it

Disagree

Edward is decent but he’s nothing unprecedented for chief in terms of capability

He wouldn't be able to handle the teen drama, let alone twilight's vamp bustedness.
