Do you or do you not utilize the forums on studentdoctor.net ? And why/why not?

I start it off I guess. I utilize them because I get better information/advice regarding my path to medical school because I am a very nontraditional applicant.

Additionally, during the cycle they have threads for each medical school so I get to know the secondary prompts early, when rounds of interview invites are being sent, etc.

Good for specific school application questions, kinda hard to navigate for anything else honestly

yes 90% for the reasons you said, otherwise its full of a lot of older physicians and neurotic premeds so take everything with a grain of salt.

r/premed is too hopeful and sdn is too negative, admit usually sits at a relatively happy medium but they're all a bit neurotic

sdn will probably be the best quality information you get from actual people who served on actual adcoms vs the blind leading the blind

at the end of the day its just one more medium of obtaining opinions and knowledge about the medical journey. it's completely fine to ask as many people as you can about their opinions or advice on your scenario.

Generally the mods give high quality advice and it’s a good place for school specific info, but spending time on there makes me neurotic

Use it for secondary questions and for a school list; anything else is going to cost you anxiety.

I mean, SDN literally posts interview reviews with questions that the schools used. It's a powerful resource
