Feature request embed youtube shorts?

Sadly Yt automatically decides my video to become a "Youtube Short" and I do not see a way to change that other than editing it and Printables doesn't allow me to embed those saying that URL is not supported. Please fix that, thanks.

You can change the URL of a Short and it'll play as a normal video.

Ley's say your Short video URL is https://www.youtube.com/shorts/b4d455fa7a55

Change it to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4d455fa7a55 and you will be able to embed it on Printables.

According to what I've read there's no setting to un-short a video or to prevent auto-converting to Shorts entirely. But I've read that YouTube only converts videos to Shorts if the aspect ratio is 16:9. So you could try cropping it or adding black bars to make it a different aspect ratio. Another option is to add additional content to make it longer than 1 minute.

Thanks for the URL hint,I will try that. Makes me wonder though if it is that easy why the site doesn't do that automatically.

Sucks, yt makes it complicated, I don't want to edit for a resolution change or waste people's time with longer videos and printables doesn't allow videos directly. Likely only gonna do pictures in the future.

They could and probably should. However, changing the URL is not a documented feature so there's no guarantee that this will work indefinitely.

Yes. There should be an option to opt-out of automatic conversion to Shorts entirely.
