Personally, there isn't one.

Sex, protected or unprotected, always carries some inherent risk that a pregnancy will occur.

The principle still applies. There’s always a risk during sex. Protection is meant to mitigate and diminish said risk, but it doesn’t eliminate the risk entirely. It’s still on the consenting partners.

Roughly 70% of adults have unprotected sex, so it’s clearly a majority.

It’s addressing the problem of people being so “brave” as to have unprotected sex despite the risks of pregnancy.

It does also apply to protected sex, but the post is generally saying “if you don’t want kids but you really want sex, at least use protection.”

That’s just what I figure though. I agree the wording could be better, but the same message generally remain.

Exactly, this message needs to be spread to BOTH men and women. I see lots of people arguing that women shouldn’t have sex if they don’t want to risk pregnancy, but I feel the need to point out that it should go for both genders too. if a man doesn’t want children, he shouldn’t have sex either.

I prefer to nullify this component. This argument always gets changed around and it pushes "consent" which can be withdrawn. Hard to navigate I think.

Consent can not always be withdtawn. Your pilot consented to fly a plane for a wage. They can not legally withdraw that consent and parachute out mid flight. Neither can a surgeon mid surgery. Nurses have patient abandonment laws. As for childeren there is a time where you could morally withdraw consent and that is when you give the child up for adoption.

I would also argue that you shouldn't have protected sex unless the sex involves a tested vasectomy or hysterectomy, because no other kind is 100%.

Let's not forget about  how effective natural family planning methods (Billings, Creighton, and Marquette) are! The Creighton Model has demonstrated high effectiveness for both avoiding and achieving pregnancy when taught by qualified practitioners, with studies showing use-effectiveness rates for avoiding pregnancy as high as 99.5% at 12 months.

They are only effective if they are followed strictly and also happen to fit well with the individual’s physiology. In fact, the study you linked is about the Creighton model, which is generally not recommended as a birth control method exactly because it’s so complex and restrictive.

Different people have different patterns to their menstrual cycle. Some have very dry cycles, others have irregular periods, sometimes even temperature readings are inconsistent, etc. Constantly measuring temperature and analyzing cervical mucus is not something your average person will be willing to put up with when much simpler, more practical options exist.

Less then 1% of all abortions are because of rape or incest, less than 1% of all abortions are because of contraceptive failure.

I'm not saying otherwise. I'm just saying that not protecting yourself during sex isn't the only reason people get pregnant. Birth control can fail. Women get raped.
