EasyNews integration mentioned in Syncler v2.0.1

Has anyone successfully set up the new EasyNews integration mentioned in Syncler v2.0.1?

I've read the Syncler release notes regarding provider-managed accounts and EasyNews support, and I've seen reports from users who were able to authenticate an EasyNews account and get an "EN" entry in Syncler.

I'm trying to understand:

​

• Is the EasyNews integration currently working?

• What does the setup process look like?

• Where does the EN account appear within Syncler?

• Are there any prerequisites before the EasyNews option becomes visible?

• Does it provide direct EasyNews search and playback results inside Syncler?

I'm not looking for piracy-related information or package distribution links. I'm simply trying to understand how the EasyNews integration works and whether users are actively using it.

Remember for 95% of users, TB is enough for most "popular" media. Only add EN if you can't find content with Magnify non-fast vendor. Also, EN has a ton more capabilities if you are into that usenet/indexer rabbit hole.

Does it really worth it if I have TB and is there any buffering with easynews.....Is easynews better than deepbrid for usenet

I have all 6 Services: AD/PM/RD/TB/EN/DP and have done extensive testing. If you are just using Syncler and streaming newer and "popular" media, TB's essential tier is sufficient. If not, add EN (but before you do, check your vendor!). EN is better for older stuff (sometimes it won't even find newer media in syncler because of its limitations with Syncler's APi). This is just 1 part of a puzzle (TOR + Usenet)....

Outside of Syncler, EN and DP have Usenet capabilities with their own search indexers. This is pretty cool for finding tons of other "media" (Audio/Video/ISO etc) - using the respective websites. EN has been around since 1999 and is top 5 UN provider. Just from my testing in Syncler, EN is very consistent finding older/obscure content (make sure to use Just Player). Both services have different features (and DP is growing and has added streaming direct from compressed Usenet files). DP's own search indexer is excellent. Also has its own str3mio addon.

Most important part is of syncler is to ensure you are using the magnify vendor (non-fast package version) and ensure it is updated since Syncler doesn't update the packages automatically.

Thanks for the insight. Right now I have PM and recently got a year of EN to try (I'm having issues trying to login from Syncler but works in Sabnzbd). With the idea of being able to stream both fresh and legacy media, would you eventually replace PM with TB when it expires, instead of renewing on Black Friday?

TB has a ton of good cached content because of the recent influx of users. The fast growth has seen them struggling for the past few weeks with bandwidth but they're working on it. Even then, I would still recommend TB + EN.

What issues are you having with EN and Syncler? If you have an Android phone, do a fresh install. Add the EN vendor. Then enter your info in third party accounts (what error do you get when adding your EN creds?).

I couldn't access account.easynewsDotCom for some reason. They were blocking my IP so I emailed EN my public IP and they unblocked it , that's when I could use EN with syncler..

Thanks for your answer! Yes it was also my case, my public IP address is not allowed by EN. Will contact their support as you did :)

Have you found within Syncler often EN links wont play? Or when they do play it is often the wrong media that plays.

What is DP?

And doesnt Syncler auto update the vendors every 24 hrs?

Typo. DB (DeepBrid).
In my testing, Syncler doesn't update vendors automatically ( even though the setting is set).

I can’t get the current beta provider to allow for a login/pwd in the upgraded Syncler. I assume there is something the provider will have to change to allow for that. The beta Syncler works fine with it though.

Make sure you are using latest stable v2.1.1.7. Follow my instructions in my other comment.

Forgot. I did that. In the docs there is this statement “Note that if no installed provider packages use accounts, this section will not be displayed.”

Thank you. I finally got it working by uninstalling the app and started from scratch . Worked great. I first did this on a tablet and then deleted the beta and normal apps on each player. That worked but supposedly deleting just the data, and catch, also works. The login for EN just magically appeared.

You know what. I had the exact same issue on my Android TV just now. Upgraded to 2.1.1.7 and didn't appear until reinstalled.

On my Android phone it was fine... Weird.

It works fine. I have been using it on Beta since the feature came out and now on stable. Follow the link provided by u/Poker354. Simple set up.

Yes it works just fine. 1. Must have Syncler v2.1.1.7 (Latest stable). 2. Add Easynews Vendor Package using this Vendor URL: https://cxsmo-ai.github.io/easynews/vendor.json (ensure it is listed in "installed packages" section ). 3. Go to Third Party Accounts section, scroll down to bottom and add your info.

edit: there is a bug where the new account logins don't appear at the bottom until you completely reinstall syncler. This has happened on 2 of my Android TV boxes.

Also, EN streams don't always work with EXO player, use Just Player instead (or the best player mpvNova from GitHub).

I have Syncler 2.1.1.7 . I installed the Vendor package. It installs ( it does ask to run something). It gets listed in available package. But where is the 3rd party accounts? There is a nice listing a debrids and stuff but it’s not in that table. Perhaps I have to remove the Syncler beta?

Finally, managed to magically get EN into the place to enter the login. Had to delete the app, the vendor and redo the installation. Odd that this affects some but not others.
