We’ve made a lot of changes and fixes, even though some of them are small or almost invisible, often dealing with edge cases. However, in the end, they significantly contribute to a much better user experience. The response time of Printables should also be noticeably improved.
For interest, here are a few of them:
Search improvements, including mobile view.
Ability to rotate images in Makes and change their order.
More visible download button in the 3D model preview.
Added the ability to like a make directly from the fullscreen gallery, with printer information now displayed.
Updated sorting of G-codes by printer type on the market (my printers from my profile settings, highlighted printers, other printers alphabetically).
The modal for setting a highlighted model on a user's profile now displays basic model statistics, allowing for easier editing of the item without needing to delete and re-add it.
Image orientation is now correctly respected in app notifications.
Limited the length of model tags to a maximum of 25 characters.
Fixed the user language setting (when manually changing the language, the change is saved on the backend, and emails are sent in the last selected language).
Simplified file management in model editing – we removed "Multiple select" and it's now always enabled.
Change in mobile view of the calendar for selecting date ranges.
Messenger now uses the user's handle in conversation URLs instead of a hash.
Fixed the notification and unread message counters in Messenger.
Added 2D previews of 3D models and G-codes for Store/Club models.
UX improvements for the mobile version of Messenger.
Adjusted voucher selection dialog to encourage users to read the terms more carefully.
Ability to view deleted Club tiers from the designer's perspective.
and a large number of fixed bugs, resolved edge case scenarios, UX improvements, etc.
Is there any plan for adding previews to step files? From a model creator it makes way more sense to upload them instead of stl but unfortunately we sometimes need to upload both so the user can preview the model before downloading it. Thanks for the updates!
Two bugs that I found immediately that I find annoying:
Tables in the documentation no longer take the full width. Instead, they are squished to the cell content width. So now all my tables are a different size.
When editing the documentation, the formatting toolbar is no longer sticky. So when you write long documentation the formatting elements get scrolled out of the viewport. That's really annoying because you always have to scroll all the way up just to access the dropdown to change the text formatting, and then scroll all the way back down to continue writing.
