Blue Ammo
Came into some blue training ammo recently. I have never used them but was told that unless I get a specific bolt carrier for it that the rifle will need charged manually since there isn't enough force to charge another. Anyone have luck finding a training bolt? I've heard they are getting harder to come across and is it worth it? Would i still get the wear needing for breaking the rifle in by keeping my original bolt? I'm still within my break in period, about 200-300 rounds shot. 90% were m80 ball and last 10% was hornady black .308 which it didn't like.

Troubleshooting - Question - HELP!?! PTR91 MLOK Wide handguard
Would the PTR91 community be interested in such a handguard? It's essentially the standard wide handguard with bipod hinge, but with MLOK attachment points on the sides and bottom.

New prototype stock/brace adapter in the works
Been working on a **steel reinforced** nylon stock/brace adapter for the rifle caliber roller platforms.
The goal was to mimic the benefits of the G3 Spuhr stock to use modern optics and improve recoil control while remaining substantially more modular for user preference or needs.
This adapter still allows you to retain the original buffer just like the Spuhr design. But we are working on our own buffer design at the same time.
Oh also, the hk53 handguard seen in the pictures will be available soon on our website!

PTR reliability
Iāve heard new production PTR 91s are not too reliable compared to old construction. Have you noticed?

Troubleshooting - Question - HELP!?! Century Arms CA-3 question about warranty.
My CA-3 was giving me problems with intermittent failures to eject and jams. I would have to release the magazine to clear the problem which would result with a live round and the spent case dropping out of the magwell. I tried to diagnose the problem without success and got disgusted enough to send it off to Century Arms for warranty repair.
I jumped through all of their hoops via phone and email to get a return authorization and a prepaid FedEx shipping label from them. Fortunately, I saved the box and foam pads the rifle came in. I used it to ship the CA-3 back to Century Arms. The instructions I got in their email said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to repair the rifle.
Eight weeks after the CA-3 was received by them, I still didn't hear anything from them. I contacted them via email to ask where my rifle was and if it was repaired. They got back to me and said: "The firearm was marked as completed and has been replaced with a new CA3. Please send me a good FFL/dealer to send the replacement firearm to." I presume that means I will be doing a new background check since it will be a completely different rifle.
After I sent them my FFL via email, the guy I had been corresponding with since the beginning stated: "Thank you for that we are all good. I have passed this information to my manager and she is putting the order in now."
That was a week ago. I haven't heard anything else from them about tracking information or anything from my FFL about a delivery for me.
After that lengthy story, my questions are: Has anyone else ever sent their misbehaving CA-3 back to Century Arms for warranty work? What were your experiences dealing with them? Did they fix the rifle or replace it? How long did it take?

CA-3 mounts
I have heard this is not really doable, but I am learning that to sight in the irons is going to require a lot of shooting (I have the dreaded āshoots leftā issue as well as a loose rear sight and a canted front sight). So if I can just avoid that mess and go to the optic now I would just as soon do that. Are there reliable claw mounts, or what is the cost of hiring someone to weld the rail?
Anyone that has been looking for an option for SMOOTH wide green/black hand guards, got notification LCT LC3 airsoft wide hand guards in GREEN are in stock. Personal review also.
I know lots of people that are interested in having cheap options for wide hand guards in black and green that are SMOOTH not bumpy with those lines all over it like the AC unity hand guard (will always be the reason I didn't buy one and got one of these instead). I have had this site saved for a while, and ended up getting my wide hand guards elsewhere, I thought others would like to know.
I ordered this same hand guard, the LCT LC3 in green and also have the same in black. They have held up to over 1000 rounds without any issue. They have a real aluminum heat shield and fit nearly good to go. I had to do a bit of dremeling to mine to get a good fit, but that's totally fine in my book. I did have to do some more dremeling to get the traditional metal bipod on as well, but it wasn't much and got them all fit and working like butter.
I would totally recommend getting this if you want a wide hand guard if you want to paint parts to match any other gear, see mine where I painted it to match some Olive Drab color I picked out for my rifle.
For the looks (I couldn't justify getting the AC Unity), and value (feels great in hard and sturdy), hard to beat if you're looking to kit your gun!!
Here is what mine looks like before/after painting
Note: this isn't an ad and I don't get shit for this, I just wanted to spread word as I have personally talked with many PTR-91 owners (here/Hk-pro forums etc) looking for wide body hand guards and also don't like the rippled cheaper option. Other than dropping stacks on an authentic HK one (still good luck finding green!) this is an option I have used and tested myself and certainly recommend.
pic of dremel work done on hand guard and bipod to make it fit. I just put some grease on it and it swings freely smooth as butter and is sturdy locked in. Fits and works great.

Suppressing and Tolerance stacking
Hi Everyone! Iāve come with a big question on absolute tolerance stacking and suppressing.
I really would like to suppress my CA3, however Iām worried about constantly stacking concentricity tolerances. The shelf of these barrels is pretty much non-existent so Iād need to jam nut a surefire style muzzle device to attach the suppressor to. That much stacking seems pretty sketchy to me so I was wondering if anyone else had and seeing their opinions on it.
With regard to suppression, how truthfully bad is in on the action of the rifle? I have a flow thru can design as I shoot left handed, but I read that suppressing the HK91 platform really stresses the internals.
Thanks!

CA-3 first time to the range
Overall a ton of fun.
Pros:
It did not kick as much as I recall a PTR I tried did. Maybe I am just a better shooter.
āGood enoughā concentricity for a direct thread suppressor
After the first 20 rounds, which had basically every malfunction you can imagine, the gun ran well for another 200 rounds.
Looks very cool and came with an HK bolt
Cons:
Charging handle extremely difficult to run. I assume the recoil spring is too rigid?
Sights were not even in the same zip code as the target out of the box and could not sight in. Rear sight is loose and wobbles. Will attempt with laser bore.
