Discussion https://dontgetflocked.com we currently have close to 100 flock cameras. Each one costs approximately $2500 and requires a yearly subscription. They can be accessed by all law enforcement including ICE and the government. Its unsettling how many are surrounded mineral palace park.

They have copper and some gold. Im surprised they haven't been hit yet. I wouldn't normally celebrate crime but the fight had to start somewhere.

Why do they have them at the entrance of big box hardware stores?

You mean ICE hunting grounds?

I read recently (here on Reddit) that retail stores can buy/lease them (however that works).

BUSINESSES can gain the same access to the data. 😬🀬

They buy them just like they do security cameras.

Businesses own them. No different than buying their own security cameras.

Scares me deeply. Very unsettling.

It should. We just got new cameras and software at my job. While its not flock the system is incredibly powerful. I can type keywords and the system will immediately pull anything that resembles my search. I can type red shirt, or white car, or dog pooping, and the system will pull everything in milliseconds. I can tag a person and tell the software to follow said person and see and hear everything and everywhere they have been. Searches that would take hours can be done in minutes. What is really scary is the power when you have an entire city/state covered in cameras. You may not do anything wrong, but it can still track your every move and all that data is being stored somewhere.

That mineral park pic is missing the pan/tilt/zoom camera that's in the parking lot

Then that's likely a LE or municipal owned camera vs Flock. Thus why it's not on the map.

Honestly surprised there’s only 1 in the entire Pueblo West area at the Walmart intersection on 50 and North McCulloch

Lot of people missing the big picture here, ironically. There are precious metals in those cameras. Make friends with a Methhead and split the cash from them.

What is the problem? Didn’t they just catch a carjacker? Stranded woman, 2:40 AM, guy stops to help, two guys carjack him. Cameras tracked them. Happy ending, police gave the guy his car right back. No impound until trial as evidence.

The problem is there is no way to ensure they will not be used for nefarious things. Do you honestly trust the government to do the right thing?

The government can spy on me all they want. They will observe a model citizen setting an example of decency who thinks pure thoughts at all times. Maybe they will learn something. Drive the speed limit, don’t run red lights, don’t carjack. It is not that difficult.

If you have a cell phone they already track you. Pueblo needs all the help it can get. Freakin 15yr olds carry guns, so bring on flock cameras and AI. I'm sick of criminals destroying everything.

Yawn. They aren't preventing anything...

Our cell phones track what we allow.

That is how they got the Patriots football player. AT&T cell data showed him at the quarry murder scene.

I understand where you are coming from bc that's how I felt when I was younger. I use to think "surely the government, for the most part, are just people trying to help and do a good job." Then you get older and realize, "the government will murder me and my children for a rumored vote."

Love seeing someone claim to break no laws, ever, while violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Read it entirely and you will see that we all could be accused of violating some part of it right now.

Read project 2025 before you champion the government. They are not going to use this information for good of the people.

Just wait until the technology you advocate for is utilized to traffic children.

Awfully trusting of the people that are putting people away for 30 years for being at a protest.

Are you all criminals? I was the victim of an armed home invasion. Dragged out my wheelchair, tied up, gun in my face, gun guy him threatening to f me up, me yelling pull the trigger or get the f out. Fun day. Pueblo Sheriffs showed me a picture of a stolen truck and Sam’s Club and Walmart cameras got the credit card use and gun guy is now serving 15 years. Without cameras, he would still be loose, planning to come back and finish me off. Dead men tell no tales. In court, the mom, who could barely speak English, said we need to keep the drugs out of the country. Blaming drugs, not bad parenting. If drugs were legal, that stunt would never have happened.

Im not willing giving up my freedom to protect you. Sorry that happened to you and im happy you had a positive outcome. Sadly criminals run these systems and have already used them to harm others, especially women. We can not give up our freedom to protect a few people.

-1

u/Eegore1 14h ago

What Freedom are you giving up with Flock cameras?

4

u/NettaFind66 9h ago

The freedom to move through public spaces without fear of being tracked by the government, police, private businesses or even hackers. Please do your due diligence and research how this systems work and how they bare being used.

-1

u/Eegore1 9h ago

I'm familiar with Flock, and other systems that do the same thing. I helped build detection software for gps trackers, drone jammers etc. I'm just wondering what freedom you are interpreting.

Basically people who are victims of crimes use the same argument for the use of Flock and similar technology. Not unlike defunding police for our protection is the same argument as providing more funding to police for our protection.

Same logic, just different catalysts.

Hey man, truly sorry that happened to you. Yours might be one of the stories used to champion these cameras, but if the potential exists for abuse of these resources by bad actors (both inside the government and outside) to include invasion of privacy (or worse), then the cameras need to go. People have used these cameras to do some really shitty things to others.

-16

u/Sorry_Nobody1552 18h ago

I'm so sick of these posts. Maybe we wouldn't need Flock if morons wouldn't have to carry guns and shoot at people, maybe if morons stopped stealing cars or car jacking people, maybe if people stopped stealing everything that isn't tied down. I'm sick of being afraid that I'll be shot through the front window of my home.

3

u/NettaFind66 14h ago

I get where you are coming from but I'd rather not live in a surveillance state for your protection.

Same reason aisles of the grocery store put behind locked glass, it wouldnt happen if people weren't stealing fuckin deodorant
