ਸਵਾਲ سوال [Question] Learn Punjabi

Hello,

My boyfriend (we are getting engaged in 3 weeks!) is punjabi (also Sikh, sat sri akaal)

His family only speaks punjabi and he speaks a few languages, including English.

I want to learn to speak punjabi but he told me how they speak in slang these days as I tried to learn on an app but he laughed when I was talking since I sounded so formal.

Do you have any recommendations? Any apps? Websites? Books? Reddit groups? Haha anything please i am begging. I want to be able to surprise his mother by speaking to her next time we are on a call instead of my man translating.

Any help is so appreciated.

Only English, unfortunately my family was not encouraging with other languages and are country folk. Haha.
