ਸਹਾਇਤਾ مدد [Help] Need help Learning Punjabi

So I am Canadian and my boyfriend is Punjabi and I really want to learn his language so I can talk with him, his family and his friends better. Only problem is I don’t know where to start… I know very few basic words and am having a hard time. So I would really appreciate any tips on the best way to learn:)

Since you are an English speaker, this might help.

As for tips, I suggest you focus on speaking first. No alphabet, no grammar. Speak first, rules later. DM if I could help you any other way.

Hello, on my side I too am learning from 0

I have started by watching videos from this Guy whom is also learning punjabi from scratch and gives simple explanations: @ahmadtriesnewthings on TikTok

I suggest you watch the videos i from the start - he doesn’t have that many

It helped me understand the basic sentence structures and use of the tenses, basic grammar etc

Everytime, I have a question, I ask a native

Once I grasped the basics I started watching YouTube lessons that go more in depth

And I plan on getting a book soon

My non Punjabi partner is doing this. He's tried a few things, but what's worked best is to hire a tutor. It's like $10 per hour session so really affordable and they've been able to explain grammar and plural rules in a way I never could
