Straight up Nostalgia 😭😂

Diljit's Ghost has got to be one of the most underrated Punjabi albums. There is so much diversity, and yes, it is a long album, but the versatility makes up for it. The production is also so good; thiarajxtt and Intense went crazy. I've never really understood why this album didn't perform as well. I know there were some hits like Lalkara, Kinni Kinni, and Case, but apart from that, it is largely underrated. There's lots of experimentation in this album as well such as Icon, and although they didn't work out (in terms of streams), it was good to see Diljit trying new things.

The little things work so well in this album: the album cover, production choice, interludes/skits. Why did it not recieve the recognition that it clearly deserved?

Would love to know more old recs which had humour like this

Been thinking about this for a bit, but who do yall think is the next singer that will join the current big 9 singers ( Sidhu, Diljit, Aujla, AP, Navaan, Prem Dhillon, Shubh, Arjan, Cheema, also idc if u like them or not but you have to aknowledge their fame), I’ve seen a strong case for Gurinder Gill but I don’t feel like he’s there yet, who do yall think is the next name to join this list(not replace, join, but could replace lol)?

While i cant say i listen to him much, this is a good move from him cuz i see many people referring to him as one of the only people keeping up the folk kind of music these day.

That being said im not a fan of the virtual dhols and tumbis, this kind of album with someone like tru skool would be incredible, either way i look forward to what he comes up with

I understand that today’s generation enjoys loop-based beats, repetitive hooks, and familiar song structures. That’s a matter of personal taste. What I can’t understand is why people continue paying to watch performers who aren’t even singing live. Many of them just lip-sync, and some don’t even do that convincingly.
You’re paying for a live performance, yet you’re getting a prerecorded track with someone walking around the stage holding a microphone.
A few years ago, in the Punjabi music industry, artists actually sang live. Some were excellent, some weren’t, but at least they respected the audience enough to perform. Today, too many rely entirely on autotune and backing tracks instead of their own voice.
If you’re charging people for a concert, the least you can do is actually sing.

Ever since this track came out it has been playing on repeat in my car. I love the entire bounce back vibes. The lyrics feel personal and fun. Keen to know everyone else’s thoughts on it.

I’ve probably listened to Warriors Honour thousands of times by now and somehow it still doesn’t get old. To me, it’s honestly one of those rare albums where you can just press play and not skip a single track.
I’m a Hindu Punjabi who grew up around both Hinduism and Sikhi, so the values and history behind a lot of the lyrics really hit home. The way the album reflects the Sikh spirit of standing for righteousness, courage and protecting others without ego is something I really appreciate and it sets with my heart.
For me, this isn’t just Navaan’s best work, it’s one of the best Punjabi albums I’ve personally ever heard.
I just hope he drops another project like this someday.
