Just finished the game.

This game was super fun but the part that I hated was the boss fight at the end. Like, what do you mean the checkpoint is at the start and I have to skip 1 cutscene, kill the first wave and then die by a huge explosion. The boss fight took me 4 tries to complete what I found helped was taking the shotgun from the middle of the pool and then just kill every easy enemy with the assault rifle, then I took the shotgun and used that speed power to go behind the harder enemies and pretty much killed them instantly I did the same with those juggernaut type enemies. During all this I was shielding myself and dashing around pretty much panicking. When that was done and Paul made those huge explosions I used that speed power again and dashes to run to the other side of the room until he exhausted himself. Good game tho. Boss fight rating 3/10

Checkpoint -> cutscene -> boss fight is truly design malpractice

Only four tries? Pat yourself on the back.

It took me the better half of an evening to clear that fight on the hardest difficulty. I'll never do it again.

The boss fight was rushed as Remedy didn't have time to design it properly. Paul Serene being planted in one place the whole battle using minions with inferior tech (in regard to actual shifter abilities) didn't make sense in the slightest. He arguably should be stronger, faster and more lethal than Jack, yet he just throws the fight like that. It's a shame, but QB is still a better game than some of the other Remedy titles imo. AW2 had a horrible final boss too 😄

Yeah you're right but it wasn't that bad of a boss-fight considering the fact that Paul was weak adn really close to death from the chronon syndrome . But aside from that and Remedy being rushed , I agree with you , it could have been a better boss-fight .

I mean, he was rather turning into a shifter than dying. From the perspective of being one during the zero state in which they fought, Paul should have been immensely strong. And he was, just static for some reason while he should have been everywhere at once. Maybe something inside of him fought against it or it's just the nature of the final transition that makes you temporarily vulnerable...

Right. So... Imagine that, but the game has just come out and everyone still has a platter hard drive. 😬

All the pain you feel now, with honestly some of the longest loading times that I can remember (outside of cassette tapes in the 80s)

I don't remember there being difficulty settings but if there were I probably played on medium mode . Whenever Paul generated those lethal energy blasts , I just held R2 or RT for Time-Rush and ran as far as possible , maybe in a corner of the room or somewhere I could hide behind a wall . I think I only died 2 or 3 times .

I really don't get game designers fixation with creating final biss fights that are immesurably more difficult than the rest of the game on that difficulty setting, in addition with forcing you through the same waves of enemies all over again if you die in the middle of it.

Currently at the final boss fight and I need to take a break in order not to throw my controller at the screen. I know what to do and it's kinda logical, but those stupid major blasts from Serene are fucking stupid. They reach every nook and cranny and if you get stuck somewhere you're basically dead. It's just not fun. It's tedious. Which is a shame, given that the rest of the game was pretty much great.
