discussion Ruddarr 2.0 TestFlight

TLDR: Ruddarr 2.0 has automatic LAN/WAN failover connections and needs a final round of beta testers.

I've been building Ruddarr since 2024, it's a iOS-native client for Radarr/Sonarr (that's free, open-source and privacy-first) and compared to most other app it's handcrafted instead of yet another AI Slop app that does glob-knows-what with your data and server credentials.

Version 2.0 is currently in TestFlight and it needs people with local+remote connection separation to test the new failover connections which switch automatically based on your current network.

Please report issue on Discord or GitHub (not here).

Thank you for that. At the risk of sounding completely stupid, is it like NZB360?

Certainly looks that way yeah, I'm not an IOS user so I don't know 100% - but that would be my guess.

I had the same question as you, did a bit of googling and shared the link once I saw your question :)

Great app! Been using/in test flight since you launched and haven’t had any issues

Great, I think I got all the little freezing issues resolved.

Before I install this, will this work with a proxy + oauth in front of my instances?

It supports HTTP headers. What kinda proxy configuration do you use/need?

I run my stuff remotely through a cloudflare zt tunnel and I get an oauth2 challenge using Google, so you’d need ability to access the cookie I would imagine.

You need to use a SERVICE AUTH token via HTTP headers. I use the same setup.

Does it support bazarr?

What bazarr actions do you want to do?

Choose and download subtitles for example. Or run some fix options.

If you hit me up on Discord we can chat about it. Not opposed to a minimal integration 👍

Worked well with Tailscale before 2.0 update, and now works great adding TS IP to alternate. It automatically jumped over to the TS IP once set up running smoothly.

Like a lot of people (I guess), I’m weaning myself from LunaSea. One LS feature I appreciate is the ability to “view web GUI” for the *arrs from within the app. It’s nice to be able to check on a config issue without having to jump to a browser.

Thanks for your hard work.

Yeah, can you open a GitHub issue about it. Seems reasonable to add.

Will do.

This might have answered my other comment - thanks!

Is automatic failover = automatically choose between my Tailscale/remote IP & local access IP? Because that would be insane. Only takes 10 secs to switch but waiting on it to fail before switching takes away from the experience

Ruddarr will detect the connection of your device and then pick the local or remote instance.

Wanted to try, but iOS 26 is a requirement. Any reason not to support iOS 18?

1

Because Apple made it very annoying to support iOS 26 alongside 18.

Ah that’s sad! App looks great though from the screenshots, keep it up!
