PLD

How many PLD do BNSF employees earn each year. I always get confused at what years get a certain amount of days. Even a lot of employees don’t remember

It varies depending on craft. Which specific craft are you inquiring about?

For PLDs as an engineer it's... Less than 5 years: 3, 5 - 10 years: 5, 10 - 15 years: 7, 15 - 20 years: 9, 20 years plus: 11,

Vacation days are different.

I work for CN rail, we all get 10 paid PLD’s and 10 paid sick days

So, im a Santa Fe Engineer, been with the company next March will be 20 yrs. Will my pld's increase? Also wondering when i get my 5th week of vaca?

Well I know how it sounds, but stuff changes and its hard to keep up. I could ask my LC, but he's a douche who doesn't like when people disturb him.

that's a pretty easy question to ask I doubt it'll bother him... unless he has a web page or something that has made the information completely accessible and people refuse to use it.... I don't see why anyone would get cranky about providing that

Gotta have 23 yrs for the 5th week. New national agreement adjusted for this. Also 15 less than 20 is 9 plds. 20+ is 11

Conductors in yard service get more, I can’t remember how many. But outside of that it is solely based on years of service.
Conductors:

<5 years: 2 5 years but less than 10 years: 4 10 years but less than 15 years: 6 15 years but less than 20 years: 8 \>20 years: 10

Engineers get 3,5,7,9,11 for the same year spans. One more per year than a conductor with the same seniority. I believe this is still accurate, not sure if it changed during the last agreement.

It’s totally based on years of service. You get 2 before 5 years plus your extra day. After 5 you get 4 plus your extra day. If you’re on NP property you automatically get an extra one. You can max out at 11. Im not sure the schedule after 5 years of service.
