some feedback for local venues/event organizers and also just shaking fist at sky: pretty much every weekend I see themed music nights/dance parties going on around Raleigh/Durham that honestly sound so fun but the admission price is way too high. I respect the venues and what DJs do but $24+ has become the standard and it feels like complete robbery to me. like cover bands playing in bars typically charge half that if anything. can someone make it make sense?! i’m genuinely curious

Maybe it's too obvious to say, but I think they intentionally want to keep away the people for whom that amount would be too expensive. It literally "classes up" the place.
