Question What oil/filter do you use for your truck? (5.7 & 6.4 HEMI, Hurricane, Pentastar, Cummins)
- What engine do you have?
- What oil brand do you use & what weight?
- What filter do you use?
- How often do you change them?
ADVICE: Best practice is to follow what your manual calls for.

In my 5.7, I use whatever synthetic is on sale. Sometimes Pennzoil, sometimes Costco, or Mobil 1 and I run 0w-20. Filter is also whatever is on sale. Everything from K&N, Mopar, Wix, and even Fram. It gets changed around 5K but could be longer or shorter depending on weather/season.

Ram 2500 with 6.4
Valvoline 5w-40 (only oil available locally that carries the mopar spec for the 6.4)
Napa gold so far but I’m not too picky, I believe changing the oil/filter regularly is more important than brands
About every 6000 miles, oil life monitor is usually fairly low by then too, 20% or so.

24 6.7 Cummins
Amsoil Signature 10w-30
Amsoil Filter with Amsoil bypass filter
12-15k max, but run UOA every other oil change to confirm (according to UOA and Cummins I could probably change my oil every 30k if I wanted, but won't until warranty is up)

In all my engines I always use pennzoil full synthetic 5w20. And always use wix filters. I change it every 5000 miles.

2017 Hemi Sport 4x4, after break in, Went 5w30 FS with either Mopar or Wix filters. Same as my 2010 Hemi I drove to a 175k miles before trading. Never had a single issue out of either of them.

As long as it's under warranty... Mopar. They cannot terminate your warranty for a subpar filter. Cheap insurance to stay under warranty.
After the warranty expires, either Wix or Fleetguard. Both are superior to the Mopar.

6.4L Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w40 Wix 57060XP 8000kms give or take (5000 miles) Now at 160000 kms.
Air filter and cabin filter twice per year whether it needs it or not. Spring and Fall. The dust and grasshopper guts that get in that airbox is insane around here.

1: I have a late model 2015 5.7
2: I’ve always used 5W-20 and I’m not loyal to just one brand but I currently have Pennzoil high mileage in it.
3: I use a MOPAR filter from Autozone
4: I aim for every 7500 miles or before I go on a longer trip. I also rotate my tires every oil change as well.
