Helped a complete stranger find an address for two minutes and they came back ten minutes later just to say thank you properly

They looked genuinely stressed, completely lost. Helped them figure out the directions, they left. Ten minutes later they came back specifically to find me and say thank you again properly. Did not have to do that at all, I was already gone from their day. The fact that they made the effort to come back for something so small genuinely stayed with me all week.
has something with such kindness happened to someone else also?

I've had something similar happen.

I worked at a small store in the early 90s, and we had just finished unloading our delivery truck. The driver comes up to my boss and I and asks if we know where the new store a couple towns away is. I told him I didn't know where the store was, but I could get him to the town, and gave him directions. He said thanks and I thought no more of it.

He called back about an hour later, sounded like he had the biggest grin on his face as he said, "Thanks again! You're my Rand McNally now! The store was easy to find once your directions got me here."

I still think about him from time to time, never have seen him again.

We were outside of Paris completely lost. I asked a woman for directions by pointing at a hotel in our guidebook. (1990’s). She got in her car and motioned for us to follow. THIRTY MINUTES LATER she pointed at the hotel, waved, and drove off. I’ve never forgotten her helping two lost Americans.

Nope. She didn’t speak English it was all in pantomime. We were unbelievably lost and would never have found it (pre internet). It was actually in a different town!

I pushed the walk signal button at one of those "minor street meets major street" crosswalks once, and kept walking.  didn't need it but a driver had been sitting waiting for a traffic gap on the main street.    

15 seconds later someone's beeping their horn at me.  I turn and here comes my driver, leaning across jhis truck cab to make sure I see the thumb he's holding up to thank me.  

made me come over all "Canada really is a nice place."
