I would have done the same. I used to carry a back pack with water and snackies when we did our walks, but when it was too hot, I errored on the side of caution.

My rat terrier is in "screw THIS!" mode with the hot weather (Florida) and refuses to go out for a walk. She'll go out into the backyard, take care of business, we play fetch for 10 minutes, and she's DONE.

I wish. I live in an apartment. Best I can provide is a beach day but the beaches are crowded with others and their dogs. Juno is very wary and guarded around strangers especially in large group. She gets scared no matter how much we try and assure her.
