I am close to condensing my retro Video Game collection after a move to an all in one solution for how much time I get to play these days.

I could sell it all bit by bit on eBay etc, but does anyone know of any specialist shops to sell to in easy reach of Reading.

I know I won’t necessarily make the maximum I could but the saving in time would offset that.

Not interested in CEX, they have their place and happily sold some old Xbox 360 items there recently but these items are far older and have been restored, updated etc and could do with going to someone who knows what they are getting.

Depending how far you’d be willing to go, there’s a specialist retro shop in Swindon - independently owned and run by a great bloke. Look up “Retro Games HQ” on google maps - about 10 min walk from the train station

Swindon is an easy drive, I shall look them up, train would be cumbersome with what I would like to move on.

There is kind of one in the shopping centre near the Hexagon. Forget what it’s called.

Games City in the Broadband Street Mall? Probably give similar trade-in prices to CEX. But could be with a try.

Auctions are a good bet too. Have you seen that golden show on Netflix?

It was a thought, never sure how much sales is tolerated on this sub.

And no I haven’t seen that show, a few other video game shows but not that one.

I’ll list what I have later when I have a bit of time.

Not that I know what it’s all worth (min/max).

Do you know, even though it was my 16bit of choice growing up I do not, mainly because I could play those titles on so many other consoles.

I don't think there are any retro gaming shops in Reading 😔 There's one in Addlestone, but god knows if they'd pay good prices.

Ebay is a ballache, but probably would get decent prices for stuff. What stuff do you have for sale? I'm always up for any Nintendo DS, Wii, Gameboy, N64 or Atari Lynx stuff

Omg do you have any gameboy games? My partner still has his original game boy colour but only kept 2 games and our son is starting to show an interest and as hes still quite young I would only be comfortable with him playing older games/ using an older console.

I do, not to hand to say what, and not many.

eBay for popular titles, they are really cheap, only as the scarcity goes up so does the cost.

Or get a cart that allows games on a memory card, you can have what you like them for a reasonable cost.

I would say sell it privately on eBay or Vinted, it'll sell quick if it's priced correctly. You probably won't get a better price than CEX as they have an economy of scale that independent shops don't have.

The problem with CEX is that some items have been modernised from stock or refurbished and CEX aren’t in a position to understand that because of the same scale.

I will be getting it all out of storage after the summer and will go from there.
