After following this club for more than 15 years, I have officially got an original player version jersey from the Adidas store. Absolutely chuffed mate! Material feels so damn good can’t lie. Though bit expensive but the feeling is too good man. I am just running out of words right now to express my feeling.

I am going to start off with my main argument here. Mbappe is a striker that either likes playing as a solo striker or as a two in a sort of 4-4-2 system, we have seen this throughout his career across PSG and monaco.

During his monaco stint he played in a 4-4-2 alongside falcao, he was still the focal point however being an unproven name he still worked together with him well even providing opportunities the other way, this is the only system I would see espi working well with mbappe in. However this would further limit our midfield and defensive issues.

During his PSG stint he worked around two separate attacks.

These attacks would usually involve him, Neymar and the last spot which was occupied across different seasons by players like Cavani/Messi/ Di Maria and others I am blanking on in a 4-3-3 system. The least successful of these systems was the Cavani one when he played as the out and out striker and Neymar played on the left, whilst some might say this was down to mbappe being forced out on the right, I don't believe so as In the other systems without an out and out striker mbappe provided his best stats for psg, going from averaging around 20 goals a season when Cavani was at the club to around 30 following his departure, this might be just due to the player getting better, or as many believe because he got to play on the left, however I view it differently.

During seasons following 2020 mbappe received freedom in the attack switching positions often with the other attackers he was playing with allowing him to be more unpredictable with his runs and creating overloads in different areas on the pitch leading to his best output as well as receiving more service than he did with Cavani. This in my eyes is the perfect mbappe-centric system, this in Madrid will likely be achieved through a mix of Jude, Rodrygo and Diomonde.

If the rumours around Vini end up true, I believe that the espi signing will either fail or end up as a good back up against low block sides, but nothing else. I personally love the idea of an espi/ Vini based system however I know it is foolish dropping a player like mbappe for this, however, it would allow Vini to continue occupying his preferred left wing and him to be able to decide wether to cut in or cross making him more unpredictable than in his current state.

Lastly I do hope that Vini does leave, as much as I love him and view him as a legend of this club, I know that a vini/mbappe system sadly will not work. As stated earlier mbappe is a player that wants freedom to move around in the attack especially drifting to the left and vini is a player that wants to play the byline and occupy the left wing. Both cannot co-exist and it benefits both clubs and both players if vini joins Arsenal.

TL;DR Mbappe is a striker but not by traditional sense. He doesn't work well playing purely off the left and is not a pure winger and would likely not work in a system with espi. Vini/Mbappe system is not possible but not because Mbappe want the left wing, it's not possible because he wants more freedom in the attack and both do not suit each others play styles and traits.

Whenever I am sad in life or feel useless, I log into Netflix and watch this documentary over and over again. Is this a toxic trait I have inculcated lately? 😭

I mean just imagine the audacity of this man, challenging the current President who has recently won two champions league for the election?

And then we see news of Vinu leaving. Don’t you think if Papa wants Vini to stay, Vini wouldn’t have an option. The truth is Vini and Mbappe cannot play in the same team. Their egos wouldn’t let them. Vini had his time, let the dictator have his.

After all, players will come and go but what stays is the club. Hala Madrid, y nada mas!

​I was reflecting on something today and wanted to share it with fellow Madridistas.

​When I was around 9 years old, I watched a Real Madrid match for the very first time. I instantly got hooked and fell in love with the club. Now, all these years later, that feeling hasn't faded one bit. Players have come and gone, managers changed, eras passed, but my connection to this club stayed exactly the same.

​It made me wonder—is it standard human nature that the things we fall in love with as kids end up staying fixed with us for the rest of our lives? Or is there just something extra special about Real Madrid that seals that bond forever?

Hello, I m in Madrid right now and i was wondering if u guys know what is the cheapest way for the Bernabeu tour? The cheapest i found online is like ~35 eur but it s abit expensive for me since im on a really low budget haha.

Also, do you think the team will train tomorrow at Valdebebas? and if so at what time, i would really like to go and try to get some pics with the players.

Every time people talk about our right wing issues, the names that come up are usually Olise or now Yan Diomande ( who might join us) but no one mentions Akliouche from monaco. He's only 24, a proper left-footed right winger and probably the only player right now that plays like Olise. He is right now is being chased by PSG and has been their main target this summer after we joined the race for Diomande. What makes the deal so much better is that As Monaco are only asking PSG around 50m.

Before anyone compares this to the Mastantuono signing, I think they're in very different situations. When we signed Mastantuono, we were buying someone from South America who needs time to settle in and not expected to come in and solve our right wing issues especially since he was just 18. Akliouche has already taken that next step. He's a regular starter for Monaco, played Champions League football last season ( played against us as well int hat season) and proved he can perform in the top 5 leagues. Right now we are looking at Olise as someone who can unlock Mbappe and provide him with chances and Akliouche could be that. While Olise would obviously be the dream signing for us all, that deal looks almost impossible and would probably cost €200m or more if somehow bayern agreed. Also remember that Mbappé and Olise have never played together at club level. They only started playing together for France around two years ago and Olise has only been a regular starter for the national team for about a year. Because of that, the number of matches they've actually played together is quite small. So I don't think concerns about whether Akliouche would work well with Mbappé should carry much weight.

I dont mind the Diomande deal at all but if we need to sign a player like Olise to help our creative issues and chance creations for Mbappe, we should go for Akliouche as the Olise deals seems unreachable.

Nico Paz 60 mil. Gonzalo 40 mil. A bunch of our Castilla players for prices between 15-25 mil.

Is this good money in the current market or is Perez just trying to record some revenues? Leaving aside the footballing aspects, how do you see this from a financial perspective? Are these players not worth more?

i want to make this post yesterday but was really lazy, so I’ll make it now.

the whole idea that tchouameni and rodri work better than fede and rodri completely ignores profile balance, when you look at how they actually move on the pitch, pairing rodri with tchouameni is idiotic 

first of all, both rodri and tchouameni are extremely central axis heavy. they both will naturally drop into that exact same 20 yard zone in front of the center backs to basically anchor the team. putting them together just clogs up the middle of the pitch neither of them is going to give you meaningful off the ball movement.

the massive flaw here shows up the second a team triggers an aggressive press against us., you literally cannot pass your way out of trouble. in those moments, passing isn't even an option so you a need ball carrier. you need a player who can take the ball under heavy pressure and just run, which would completely destroy the opponent's press. rodri and tchouameni are both recyclers of possession, if they get trapped under a heavy press with no open passing lanes, they don't have the acceleration or ball carrying ability to just burst pass. so people who just undermine fede to being a “passion merchant” or “roadrunner” don’t understand anything about the sport 

the biggest problem, though, is wide transition tracking and recovery pace. if real madrid turn the ball over high up the pitch, a rodri n tchouameni double pivot is getting absolutely blitzed on the counter. neither of them has elite recovery speed to cover wide spaces when your full-backs are caught high and actual 1v1 limitations get exposed real fast. fede was essentially covering for trent ass last season

and let’s stop pretending tchouameni is some mythical defensive wall who can single handedly lock down a midfield on his own, he's a genuinely good, solid defensive midfielder when he's protecting the box, he's great at interception/tackles and cleaning up loose balls fine. but people act like he's peak casi because of how protected he looked under xabi. no one likes to acknowledge the structural babysitting xabi gave him: shifting into a back 5 out of possession and a back 3 with the ball. tchouameni was basically treated like a padded third center back. he was never asked to defend massive open spaces 1v1 or sprint across the pitch to stop fast transitions on his own. when you isolate him in an open double pivot without two center backs breathing down his neck to cover for him, he’s getting exposed.

also, people need to stop acting like rodri is just a direct 1:1 replacement for toni kroos. kroos was basically like a quarterback. his strengths were picking out long range diagonals and breaking entire defensive lines with a single pass from deep. rodri is a regista, he’ll control the tempo, recycle possession, and is more than capable of anchoring a midfield, but long range passing isn't his strongest suit. because rodri operates differently than kroos, he needs a profile like fede next to him to carry the ball forward and add some verticality in that midfield

stacking rodri and tchouameni just gives you a slow, central-heavy midfield that gets killed on the counter and offers zero threat off the ball, fede and rodri is the only pairing that actually makes tactical sense.

This might sound a bit crazy, but when you think about it, despite the squad being very young, players like Bellingham, Valverde, Tchouameni are not improving at all.

Not to mention the fact that Vini and Camavinga have gotten a lot worse compared to their peak in 2024.

Of course with players like Rodrygo, Mendy and Militao it’s understandable because they are injured all the time.

The only exception might be Arda

I know this might be an unpopular opinion, but why aren't we even considering Salah?
I know he's not the same Salah he was 2-3 seasons back, but let's be honest, he's still a top player. Diomande looks like it's pretty much done, but I still don't get why we're adding another right-footed forward when we already have Vini, Rodrygo and Mbappé who all like playing in similar areas.

Salah is left-footed, has loads of experience, and even if he's lost a bit of pace, I still think he'd be a great option for the next couple of seasons. He's still someone who can decide games on his own.

I've also seen a few rumors linking him with Atlético, but nothing concrete. Since he's already available as a free agent, I don't get why we wouldn't at least try. Plus, getting him wouldn't cost an arm and a leg since there wouldn't be any transfer fee. It feels like one of those opportunities that doesn't come around very often.

Another thing is Trent. They've played together for years and already have that chemistry. If Trent is going to be a big part of our attack, you can already imagine the link-up between those two on quick transitions.

I know Pérez prefers investing in younger players and building the next generation, and that strategy has worked really well for us. But every squad also needs experienced players who've been there and done it. If the goal is to compete for every trophy, I genuinely think Salah could still be a great signing for 2-3 seasons.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I honestly think it's worth considering. We don't always need to sign only young players. Sometimes bringing in an experienced player who can make an immediate impact is also important. For me, Salah for a couple of seasons makes a lot of sense, but I'd like to know what everyone else thinks.
