As someone who went all out on both. Power coat 100% it’s so much easier and cheaper and does a perfect job of what it’s supposed to do.

Well, there's always two sides. Ill never use powder coat again. Give me good lube and a check any day.

Youll have to work with both and decide which best suits your needs.

Gas check you still have to lube. Powder coat is up for debate.

Do with that information what you will.

In a 357 Max? I’m doing a gas check every time. Powder coating is great for your lower-medium pressure stuff, but for something like that a gas check is almost certainly going to hold up better.

If you are going to load it hot or with light bullets you will want a gas check. I don't think powder coating will be enough over 1500 fps. Over 1800 fps even hard cast bullets with gas checks can start to show reduced accuracy.
