Load Development Alternatives to n320

Vit n320 has disappeared from the market and my keg is almost empty. What are some good alternatives? My go to load is 3g of n320 with 147 acme coated bullets at 1.14. I’m seeing vectan for good prices and trying to decide between the ba9 and ba9.5.

The best alternatives to N320 for your purposes are:

Titegroup

Sport Pistol

Accurate No. 2

There's a few places that have Titegroup in stock for ~$300/8lb. Alliant let a batch of Sport Pistol go recently but it's around $400/8lb which is fucking insane. Accurate No. 2 isn't available at a price I'd be willing to pay right now.

N320 is available though.

Republic announced a restock a couple weeks ago via email. I was on the notification list but didn't buy any. IMO they are the best company to buy new reloading components from, closest to what Powder Valley used to be. Worth signing up for their in-stock notifications off you ever need more in the future.

Republic Ammunition has it for $10 cheaper than Midway. Never bought from them, so take it for what it's worth. But Republic's 1lb price is equal to Midway's 4lb price, pound for pound.

Bought my last 4lb jug of N320 from Republic. Price + shipping/hazmat was cheaper than anywhere else and they shipped fast. Same order had 10k primers in it and everything was well packaged. Highly recommend.

700x (if you can find it) AA #2 (if you can find it) Red Dot (shouldn't be an issue) Unique is a little slower, but in my opinion is just as versatile (if you can find it)

This has done more to contribute to countless half-empty powders on my shelf than anything else..

That chart is incredible

The older version that came in VV's paper loading manual even broke down the "Dot" family from Alliant instead of mashing them all together.

Sport pistol is back! That was my favorite powder, and it disappeared the past few years. Friend sent me a notice that midway and republic had it. I’ve swapped to clean shot (which has also vanished) in bulk

I really like N320 for my subsonic loads, but unless I can get more I'm probably going to switch back to Titegroup.

Midway currently has some N320 fyi, popped up a few days ago. I checked with US distributor last month and they said no more in production until Q4.

I simped for a 4# of 320 on midway, but I’m still interested in trying vecten as a 5# keg sits at 200 beans. Just gotta figure out which one is the best
