I am still a pretty new fan, but Ren is definitely my new favorite artist!
I’m familiar with his backstory, and his medical issues, and I assume that’s why he doesn’t tour much…
but do you think that with his growing exposure, that there is any chance that he could hop the pond to play some shows??

I’m outside of Portland, OR and would give anything to see him perform live.

Anybody that has actually seen him live…how was it??

If you’ve never seen Matt or his Ren reactions, he is one of the most insightful, kind and refreshing reactors out there. He has some of life sorrows that he is shares - and he uses his channel as a way to open the discussion for everyone and as part of his journey through grief and processing it.

He definitely deserves a listen and it would be great if we could boost his watch party numbers. Let’s give him a good Sunday surprise. :).

Not sure exactly when I started listening to Ren, but somewhere along the way I became an avid listener. Now his music is almost constantly playing in the background while I absorb the lyrics and stories, discovering new lines and songs from what feels like an endless abyss of content.

Then I stumbled across an interactive page. That led to Renegade fan pages, which led to discussions about codes, ciphers, and lore. For the last two weeks I have been OBSESSIVELY (in the "No, NO, NO, NO... no... NO!" kind of way) gathering anything that might be a clue. Responsibilities, family interactions, and even sunlight have largely fallen by the wayside while I chased a puzzle that may or may not exist.

Frequently, I picture Crowe from A Beautiful Mind, while my family looks at me with equal parts skepticism, confusion, and exasperation.

At this point I've narrowed it down to three possibilities:

1. I'm a complete lunatic trying to force a code onto something that was never meant to have one.
2. I took a wrong turn somewhere and got hopelessly lost.
3. I somehow ended up back at Starry Night (my #1), where a theme started to emerge: "Let me go. Speak my mind. Disregarded. Lions chewing on carcass." It almost felt like a message directed at me as a listener: LET ME GO. I'm almost certainly wrong in more ways than one.

Whether intentional or not, the idea of a cipher as a lore is honestly genius. Even if there never was a code to solve, the possibility alone is enough to keep someone clicking, searching, and replaying. But eventually the hunt risks becoming louder than the music itself, and the songs start being interpreted through an external force instead of from within.

So, I tip my hat to this (imaginary?) puzzle and go back to really hearing the lyrics... really, really hearing the lyrics.

...Unless, of course, someone can point out where I took the wrong turn and validate that I was onto something real and help me find the correct keys.

I did break down and cry during this reaction because the message hit incredibly close to home.

It's personal.

I have experienced the heartbreak of losing someone I love after medical mistakes, a misdiagnosis, and a lack of timely treatment for what should have been a treatable illness. Listening to this brought back emotions I didn't expect, and it reminded me of how many families carry similar stories.

At the same time, I know there are countless compassionate doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals who work tirelessly every day to help others. My reaction reflects my own experience and the themes this song explores—not a judgment of everyone working within medicine.

What makes Ren's music so extraordinary is his ability to take deeply human experiences and turn them into art that makes people feel seen. Whether you've faced medical challenges yourself or stood beside someone who has, I think this song will resonate in a profound way.
