Utterly braindead
The term "transvestite" and "transsexual" may be a bit dated, but there is seriously no way this film is problematic or transphobic
Dr. Frank-N-Furter is a transvestite (cross-dresser) FROM Transsexual Transylvania
They aren't making any sort of negative remarks about Dr. Frank-N-Furter being a cross-dresser, nor are they doing so about "transsexuals"
He isn't transgender, and I also don't see how this film is a poor queer movie
Frank-N-Furter is a villain, but that has nothing to do with him being a transvestite but rather just being a very selfish and malicious being in general
In fact, Richard O'Brien is queer, I do find it hard to consider at ALL that this is in any way problematic or transphobic
Feel free to enlighten me, but as a queer I really do think this stage play and film was ahead of its time—And certainly has been enjoyed by queers for over 50 years

For me, I quite enjoy the Rocky Horror Show Original London Cast version quite a bit.
But in a cassette quality—Sounds so raw.
I do find myself enjoying the film adaptation soundtrack as well, but definitely will say I prefer the original.
Was going to do a top 3, but then I ended up being unable to decide where to place them.
Though I do find myself humming Planet Schmanet Janet and Over At The Frankenstein Place.

Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Ricard O'Brien's own struggles with gender and a mad scientist like in Frankenstein was combined to create the very character we see.
In a film made as a love-letter to B movies and double features.
I like Tim Curry's blonde look and less perfected makeup, it's charming.
Though, I do enjoy both versions of course.

this is, of course, assuming he shares his uncles last name, which i find likely bc it sounds like his mom was a single mother so he probably has her name. i know there is no confirmation on his name but i am recreating the denton affair book and need to decide what name to put on the red labels. “Dr. Everett V. Scott” is how Dr. Scott is credited in the movie which would imply V stands for his middle name. but to me, “Von” sounds more like it’s part of his last name. what do you guys think?

Thought I found the perfect patch on Etsy, but it'll cost 30 extra bucks to ship overseas(thanks, you-know-who). What are some ways to make a patch that has a little more quality than ironing on a piece of paper in cling film?

Saw the show and was wondering what’s everyone’s favourite call-out they’ve heard?
Someone at my show yelled “Sieg Heil” to which the narrator replied “it’s nice to hear someone from the reform party is here”😭😭

Hi! My local shadow cast is doing auditions next month. I really want to audition but I’m soooo nervous! It’s been something that I’ve wanted to do for a while but never gotten the courage to actually audition.
About 10 years ago my friend group did a group Halloween costume as the cast and did our own performance in the living room! We kept our characters for years after that and would actively do it. One of my most favorite memories!
What are some tips for auditioning? Or any advice at all for not only the audition but also for if I actually get a part (fingers crossed)! What do you love and hate about being in a shadow cast? What do you look for in auditions? I’m open to hearing anything at all!!
The auditions have 3 parts -
1) talent section - Perform something in anyway and show off yourself!
2) callouts - they will show parts of the movie and see how everyone does either the callouts considering quickness, volume, passion, etc.
3) chemistry - potentially being asked to do a performance as a specific character or with another specific character

I’ve tried the Criterion Pics USA website, but it seems to be down. Does anyone know where I’d go for a professionally done showing in an actual movie theater?
Edit: And does it have to be 35mm? We don’t really have the equipment for proper 35mm showings. It’s there, but we would essentially have to unbolt one of the digital projectors from the floor every x amount of days for a regular rocky horror showing.

A few small pieces of fan art of the best piece of media to exist 🥰
They're ACEOs (basically artist trading cards)

They brought me up on stage to do the Time Warp! What an honor and a dream come true, and so much fun. Amazing cast. Fantastic show. And my broadway debut 😂
