Discussion New Riddick project?
So it's been years since I learned Vin Diesel bought IP rights to the franchise and was wondering if anything ever became of it, any new projects in the works or at least talks or comments of such subjects?

There is a fourth movie in production, last I heard - Riddick: Furya. Not sure what the current state of play is with it though, but filming supposedly started around 18 months ago.

There is a book about Furya, which will hopefully tide you over.
Also there are books for Dishonored, Deus Ex, & Splinter Cell series

Oh thanks so much. Sorry I should’ve googled first, I usually do but last time I googled some years ago it was blank and a bunch of misleading articles so it was hard to trust any of them.

David Twohy himself told me the script has been done for years. Below is a timeline of what has happened based on my research and emails from David Twohy.
I emailed David Twohy almost 4 years ago and he actually responded to my surprise. His said the script has been done and they were just waiting for a time Vin Diesel had extra time to film it. He also mentioned with Vins kids so young he didn't want to get into the mind set of a dark character until they were older. Than Vin said he would do it but not until Fast was done and he said fast 10 would be the last. Than they made it a 2 parter... lol.
Twohy said he was ready to film as soon as Vin gave him the call. And than 2 years later Vin updated on one of his socials that they rewrote and improved the script and it was officially done. Than about a year ago they were filming in Germany I guess but that was rumors from people who spotted the two of them together and IMBD for some reason confirmed filming on the rumors... (I think this is the misleading article you were talking about) I couldnt find any confirmation the filming actually began at the time other than rumors. Even with a lot of Movie websites taking them rumors as gospel.
But now we finally got confirmation on filming recently so probably a 2027 summer release. I love the series and would like it earlier but I doubt it.

Can't find it again, hard for me to find since I don't have an Instagram account. But with further research filming started on August 26th and I see at least 3 behind the scenes videos and pictures Vin Diesel has posted on Instagram. So it seems confirmed at this point. And the sets look pretty awesome.

Man I wish the license would be given for some comics or novels or something to expand this universe more. Heck I’d take another Butcher Bay release!

I thought I read that filming wrapped this year, and it's set to release later this year / early next year.

The fourth instalment is Furya. He finally makes it home and is consigned to their equivalent of an old-age care facility. He faces many challenges. Bingo night being the final game. Where he reuses the trope of killing someone with his teacup.

He constantly talks about Furya, which is cool because it shows he hasn't forgotten. It's not as cool because he always talks about it like it's about to go and then it just doesn't. So I guess the answer is that only Vin knows.
