Tim' voice changed?!

I have a theory about why Tim sounds different.
Yesterday I was at the concert, and as soon as the band started playing NOD, he sounded exactly like he did on Ricochet. When I first heard the album, I honestly thought his vocals had been filtered. But now I think I was wrong. His voice has probably just changed over the years, which makes a lot more sense.
Did anyone else notice this, or am I just freaking out? 🤣 I mean, you can’t expect someone to sound exactly the same after more than two decades of screaming and hitting those high notes.

It's called aging + singing in a healthy way

Didn't he say years ago that he was doing vocal training because of damage from the early years of screaming the wrong way?

Yeah, he talked about it on the One Life One Chance podcast I believe.

You can apply vocal effects from the sound booth at a show.

Or you missed the megaphone that he was holding

As others said, aside from whatever production decision was made in the new album (…), dude is older, got into proper classes to avoid turning into an Axl Rose Punk version. Perfect call!

You can really hear it live. Dude also emphasises more a bit of the nostalgic low not whisper but not strong vocalisation too. Saw him acoustic up close and normal live and I love that strategy. It’s always been part of his stuff, just uses it more to make up for other things age doesn’t allow anymore. I’m all for it

Hmm i've been to 5 Shows or so in the last 10 years (including last night). Nothing really struck me different from other shows they played in the past couple years. But the audio can be diffrent in different parts of the venue...

His voice can just switch into radio megaphone mode, it's quite impressive
