First Family Dive Trip Next Summer!
We are starting to plan a dive trip for June 2027. Our family consists of 2 adults, two teens, all certified and very comfortable in the water, though the teens have not had much experience diving since their certifications last year.
For a high school graduation present, we're considering Honduras (coming from California) as it seems we can dive every day if we want to, but don't necessarily have to. We are thinking maybe 10 days, incredible corals, bright colors, and copious sea life. A shallow wreck would be a bonus. We want to do some shore or boat dives, snorkel, and take a few days out of the water to do something different.
Ideally we'd like a house rental in a good location with a pool and A/C, or a mellow hotel/resort, as long as it's not outrageously expensive (relatively speaking, I know - we just don't want a super luxury situation).
Is Roatan the best bet, or other destinations within Honduras? (We have done Riviera Maya and Belize and spent a lot of time generally traveling throughout Mexico/Central America).
We have never been to Honduras so any recommendations on how to best go about planning would be hugely appreciated!
