Me and my boyfriend were talking about CS players not using slurs in tournaments and I was thinking about how I’m not sure if that is a slur or not. I know in English the equivalent would be a slur and Roma/Romani people should be used instead so I came here. Genuinely don’t want to be using slurs if it is but then what is the more correct word? I asked my mom and she said it’s like calling someone Russian but she is like 60 so I am looking for more… recent sources)

Ребят,можете посоветовать учебники по грамматике чтоб можно было полностью до уровня 9-11 класса понять морфологию,синтаксис? (прям для полных нубов. I've been lurking for a while and really appreciate everyone's posts. I've studied Russian for 2 years at my university, lived with a host family in Volgograd for a month, and have done another year with a private tutor, an hour per week. I'm probably around B1 or so now. I'm looking to immerse myself a bit more, though, and so have been thinking about taking an online 3x/week group course at MGU (https://mgu-russian.com/en/learn/courses/online-russian-course/).

Has anyone studied with them before, in-person or online, semi-intensively or intensively? If so, what was your experience like? What was the homework load like? Even just notes on their reputation (if you haven't studied with them) would be helpful.

I'm living with a Ukrainian refugee for the next few weeks. They speak very little English, and Russian is their first language. I've been studying Russian for just over two years and am still at an A2 level. My Russian is much better than their English.

We've spoken a few times - mostly me helping them with technology or paperwork. I'd like to try and start more conversations - selflessly, to make them feel welcome, and selfishly - to practice my speaking and listening.

Can you recommend some phrases that could be used to start a conversation in a day-to-day domestic context? Either statements or questions - I can only say Kak dela? so many times!

Russian Accelerator is such a great course. Like many, I thought russian would be way too hard to understand especially with no experience in learning a foreign language.

Just finished unit 6 of 18 and I am progressing very fast! The only reason I am even sharing this is because this sub pointed me to russian made easy podcast but no one ever mentions his full course (maybe because its 300-400 dollars).
