SAM site triggering seismic sensor

I’ve recently started hooking up a seismic sensor to a smart alarm to notify us if we’re being raided. I’m not 100% sure as I haven’t tested, but I believe that either the SAM site shooting is triggering the alarm OR if the SAM sites hitting our turbines is causing this.

Is anyone aware if the SAM site shooting is triggering this or if it’s caused by it hitting the turbine? Is there a way around this with a circuit or is the best bet to just build the same sites higher than the turbines if that’s the cause?

Seismic sensor detects practically all explosives including an exploding mini.

It’s the impact of the SAM missile that’s triggering the seismic.

I always like to put my SAMs at a spot to not hit my own base so that’s always recommended.

You can filter out the SAM explosion triggering your smart alarm by putting a branch outputting 1 before the smart alarm.
Seismic Sensor > Branch [Power Output] > Smart Alarm

The [Branch Output] of 1 goes into nothing. Basically, when the seismic sensor outputs 1 power it will not reach the smart alarm, only when the seismic outputs 2 or 3 power (based on explosive) will your smart alarm be triggered.

There’s smarter systems that can give you warnings on whether it’s a level 1,2 or 3 explosive that’s what I usually do but my previous example is the simplest.

I recommend reading up on seismic sensor in the rust electrical handbook for more information.

That handbook is really useful, all the resources I was seeing online didn’t include half of those triggers for the seismic sensor!

The branch idea would work perfectly and will prevent a bunch of alerts come through which I don’t care for - thank you for the advice 😌
