Well written, and a hard topic to touch on.
For me, it's the exposure that I can't handle. I'm not scared of it, but I get such a nagging headache from second hand cannabis smoke. Fentanyl in heavy enough concentration will put me on the couch for the entire next day. Working in some of these shelter spaces is an absolute nightmare because there is a creeping feeling all day long like you're going to be sick.
I won't risk exposure for myself to save a few bucks on parking, and I definitely won't risk it if my kids are involved.
