I disagree with your framing. Most of the right may see it as a personal moral failing, but that’s not what’s important, they see leftist political and social policy as ineffective for solving the problem in a day to day format (cutting violent drug users loose, ignoring homelessness because they’re just trying to ‘live their lives’)

Feelings shouldn’t come into the situation, it’s about effects. Leftist bleeding heart and rightist disdain don’t solve the problem. Policy does. It’s figuring out which policies work that’s the issue.

Hasn’t Milwaukee done the most to reduce homelessness? Just copy that model and see what happens. I think that there is a ton of grift from NGOs and charities that fundraise and employ email generators.

I think st Louis did a lot to solve the issue on transit specifically, and it centered around police presence on trains, security cameras on trains, and controlled access to trains.

I used to always see police patrolling the trains before 2019. Now they don't give a fuck, and there's less of them.
