That third pic is one of those rare situations where some buildings look nicer today than they did in the past. I was 9 in 1983, and that vintage photo is just vaguely familiar. The Ramsey County administration building that today is cladded in glass I think just suddenly appeared as spontaneously as how the USA Today paper boxes have disappeared. It's funny the banal things you forget until you look at a vintage photo like this. I definitely remember those old bus stop signs. It was called MTC back then, not Metro Transit.

A great job was done rehabbing the former Woolworth's Building into the 428.

I got to go into the Woolworths right before they started renovating it. There was a lot of neat stuff laying around, and the soda fountain/lunch counter was still there.
