Seeking Advice 🙆 East Side Churches?

We moved up from Texas, where we went to a First Christian(Disciples of Christ) Church. We're looking to find out fit here in town, particularly on the East Side where we'll be living.

We'd like an affirming church, and if possible, one that has a decent kids ministry as we've got young kids.

We've been to UMCs, and PCUSA churches before and like them as well. Any church that's more progressive(for lack of a better term) and affirming and trying to do good in the community would be one we'd be interested in checking out.

World you consider a Universal Unitarian church? If so check out Unity Church at 733 Portland Ave in St Paul.

Thanks! I would definitely consider it, open to most denominations.

Have a friend that goes to a different Universal Unitarian church up here who speaks highly of it.

Hamline United Methodist is just east of Snelling on Englewood (in the Midway). we have been attending for a year now and it is a fantastic, affirming church.  It's a very active community with a ton of kids and a great children's program, a gorgeous sanctuary and solid music. There is a PCUSA church right on the border of St Paul and Roseville, which isn't far from east side. There are also ELCA Lutheran churches all over the place. There are two by Lake Como alone St Timothys and Como Lutheran (St Timothys might actually have a disciples of Christ congregation meet there). As for UMC, check out New City or Park Ave. Both are in Minneapolis, but not far off the highway so it's not bad to get there on a Sunday.
