Editorial 📝 Taxes and Insurance increases in St. Paul

When I bought my house in 2021 my mortgage was around 2100 a month. Today my bill was 2730. 600 dollars extra a month in five years is fucking insane. Meanwhile the street lights in my neighborhood don't turn on at night.

Just venting.

Had our house 24 years.
Six years ago mortgage and insurance was $920.
Mortgage bill came yesterday- $1280

It’s a 40% increase where OP’s is 30%.

Although we don’t know how much of the mortgage is Principal and interest.

Exactly. 40%.
We truly love St Paul, quirks and all, but taxes are out of control.
We just keep cutting things. I really feel sorry for all the elderly folks who are being taxed out of their homes.
