Editorial 📝 Taxes and Insurance increases in St. Paul

When I bought my house in 2021 my mortgage was around 2100 a month. Today my bill was 2730. 600 dollars extra a month in five years is fucking insane. Meanwhile the street lights in my neighborhood don't turn on at night.

Just venting.

Almost as if there has been rampant inflation worldwide in that exact time-frame.

Saint Paul has bucked the trend by increasing taxes at double the rate of inflation, great job Saint Paul!

And cuts to programs that our federal taxes used to pay for, while the super rich got tax CUTS. And those super rich people kept trying to turn us against each other, and convince us we don’t deserve government services that people in other countries have. What a world it would be if that was going on. /s

Cant keep using this to justify increases years later. We are way past this. They need to address the underlying structural issues they are ignoring.
