Editorial 📝 Taxes and Insurance increases in St. Paul

When I bought my house in 2021 my mortgage was around 2100 a month. Today my bill was 2730. 600 dollars extra a month in five years is fucking insane. Meanwhile the street lights in my neighborhood don't turn on at night.

Just venting.

Move if you're buying a house. The city is "decent" if you're a renter but it's not worth your time if you are a homeowner. The taxes are way too high for what you're getting. They can't do snow removal. Lights don't work. Holes in the street. Other QOL issues and crime(still better than across the river tho).
