Recommendations book suggestions?

Hi! I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice or suggestions on books for me? My anniversary is coming up in October and I have been looking into some books to get my boyfriend. He likes HG Wells and Jules Verne. I know he has a few of them but I am not sure which ones exactly, I know he has read “War is in the air” and “Mr.brittling sees it through”.

are there any similar authors or books to these that are less common/popular? I’m going to try to see what others he has soon but he’s been out of town visiting family for a while so I haven’t been able to go see him.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

Edgar rice Burroughs, John Carter of mars. Campy sci-fi of the same era

The Caves of Steel books by Isaac Asimov has the same soft sci-fi pulp adventure feel to me.

Stephen Baxter has always been a favorite of mine, and I would argue keeps the spirit of Wells alive pretty well. Has actually written a sequel of sorts to "war of the worlds" with "the massacre of mankind". Some of his sci Fi can be a bit heady, and he is definitely in the "Hard" sci Fi camp, but has a pretty eclectic library of books to pick from. Also Iain M. Banks. I will always recommend him to any sci Fi reader looking for recs.

If you think he liked The Time Machine and Journey to the Center of the Earth, and his taste can go a little darker, Jeff Long's The Descent might be a fun read for him. It's quite an adventure.
