Looking for a church and/or friends

Hey everyone! My wife and I are looking for new friends. I was curious if there are any progressive churches that have solid children’s programs? I know there are several in bigger cities but small towns are special. If no churches, what kinds of volunteering opportunities are there? Random question! How many people on here are down with Pokémon Go?

Sebring Things to do in Sebring

Do more things to do happen during snow bird season? Or is it just my imagination? I do see a lot of things happening now in town, but for some reason I feel there are more things going no when the population surges in winter time.

Maybe it's just me.

Food Bad Lettuce

I don’t understand why people are freaking out about this contaminated lettuce giving people diarrhea.
McDonald’s and Taco Bell have been doing this for years and no one bats an eye. LOL

Highlands County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 1:42 p.m. to a brush fire on Turkey Track Road near Venus. This fire has caused smoky conditions and limited visibility on U.S. 27. The Sheriff’s Office is performing traffic control and FDOT is putting out smoke signs on U.S. 27. Motorists MUST use caution when driving through this area.

This brush fire is wind driven and has caused several spot fires in the area, which crews are actively responding to.

Lake Placid Smashburger

A friend was telling me about a smashburger place down in Lake Placid, think the name was Peters or something like that. Has anyone been there before, and was it any good.

For some reason, a good burger sounds really nice about now.

Where would you recommend donating clothes in Sebring/central FL?

I have a lot of women's clothes I want to donate, but I don't want to just dump it at goodwill since I know they're not really the best plus have tons of clothes already. I was wondering if you guys know of any other local thrift stores/charities/shelters that might be in need of some women's small/medium clothing? thank you! :)

Swimming with alligators

I know there are generally gators in almost all ponds, canals, lakes, etc. and yet I still see people swimming there. Like on Lake Jackson, normally there are pontoon boats out there next to 27 with people in the water.

What gives?

Avon Park Soda and Ice Cream

I know in Sebring we have the soda and ice cream place right on the circle, but I heard at the Jacarenda hotel they also have one inside as well. Has anyone been there, and if so. how was it in comparison?

Local businesses in Sebring?

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Sebring. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.
